He was injured in preparation for McCline and the WBC has said the winner of Maskaev/Peter must face Vitali. Let's see if he can get through another training camp, because his last few haven't gone so good.

If he returns 75 percent of what he once was, I'd pick him to KO both Maskaev and Peter.

Vitali is done, he's been out already for more than 3 years now, and it will be almost 4 years before he even fights Peter or Maskaev. I heard he was getting his ass handed to him in sparring for his fight with Rahman, leading to one of his many postponements.

I cant see Vitali coming back that strong, and mark my words if he ends up fighting Peter his chin is getting shattered.

with all due respect, peter ain't knocked anyone out worth giving a **** about. his power is nothing special at all. he better be worried about his own chin, looks like wladdy broke it :deal

If you remember Wlad was on the canvas 3 times, while Peter never hit the mat. Mccline caught Peter sleeping, it happens to all the good fighters eventually. You will see how powerful Peter truly is when he knocks Maskaev out with one solid overhand right, then Vitali will end up faking another injury in training to get out of a fight with Peter, Vitali is done as fighter.

Guys like you like to bamboozle us, by stating inaccurate facts like Peter knocked Wlad down 3 times. Only one knockdown was legit-that was in the 10th round and it was more of a flash knockdown.
Now, Peter definitely had his ass handed :tired to him and he was definitely down 3 times and wobbled many times in that stint with McCline.
Peter can't finish any heavyweight with a single overhand right. If anything, Pete's had to become a boxer, because he lost his "power". Pete's days are coming.

Nobody, not even Lewis, could shatter that chin.

I think Peter is tailor made for Vitali, the fight would look like VK vs. Danny Williams. First Vitali would make Sammy dance early w/ a knockdown or 2 & then around the forth or fifth he'd beat Peter into retirement. :bbb :thumbsup

    Avatar bets if you'd like...................:D

That could be true but Vitali is smart enough to not comeback if he doesn't think he can win.

I really hope Vitali is able to come back healthy and win a belt or two. Then we'd have the "Klitschko Era" in heavyweight boxing with both steamrolling anybody in their path.:good

    Imagine that!

Ruskull will both be in retirement homes by the time Vitali makes it back to the ring. Anyways, if the fight does in fact happen I will do a avatar bet with you. Truth be told, I was fan of Vitali's way back and would agree Peter would probably lose to the Vitali of 02-04, but that was over 3 years ago, alot things could change in 3 plus years, just ask Iron Mike.:yep

......and we can say we saw it when it happened! That's what I'm talkin' about. That's the attitude!

If VK can win at least 1 belt while Wlad holds at least 1 if not 2, that'll be history.

Then Vitali can retire with pride & WK can clean the rest of the division up.

We can dream can't we? The best part is that we can say we saw it happen. The HW's were unified & a new linear champion has been determined.
