it would make it even harder to determine the true champ.

Ah that explains the multiple back-downs from fights with the mighty Hasim Rahman then :D

I know. It's quite possible that Vitali is done since he's been away so long & he's cancelled & postphoned so many recent fights.

But I can also see him returning with a vengeance.

I know his team made offer to DKP to fight one DKP's fighter in April in Germany. Kali Meehan has big chances to fight Vitali next.

Exactly - they could each hold a belt or two and defend one or two times. Then Vitali could retire as champion and Wladimir could end any confusion as to who is the top dog in the division and unify all 4 belts.

I don't want to see Vitali return if he doesn't believe he can win. He'd be doing me & every other boxing fan a favor if he backs out for lack of health, self-confidence or whatever.

Just provoking you man....you never fell for it

For what it's worth I believe a fit and healthy VITLAY would beat every heavyweight around today, including his brother, although I think that would be a most distasteful affair and I'd never like to see it happen, wouldn't even watch it in fact.

He'd still never beat Lewis though, not even on his best day :hey

The Vitali that fought Kirk Johnson & Danny Williams would've KO'd most versions of Lewis, most anyway.

    **** knows I would've loved to see a rematch.:-(

Lewis is entitled to call it a career when he feels the time is right though.

............VitKlit almost KO'd Lewis in the 2nd round, if Lewis didn't hold on for dear life he would've gone down too. To his credit he found the right distance for the reat of the round & survived.

Yes but the Lewis that fought Ruddock and Rahman (2nd fight) would have KO'd any version of VITLAY, in my opinion.

I would have loved to have seen a rematch too but Lewis had ran out of years and was smart enough to see it - had he faced VITLAY at 30 then I'm sure VITLAY would have got a rematch, one thing you can't accuse Lewis of is ducking. He'd have taken the man on again and beaten him again :yep

Lewis almost KO'd VITLAY in the 6th round and VITLAY was holding on for dear life - check the tapes.

It's always amusing to me that the VITLAY fans claim that Lewis was gassed and out on his feet yet the last 60 seconds of the last round of that fight suggest there was only one loser in that ring, and it wasn't Lewis.

Yes, VITLAY caught Lewis with his Sunday best punches in round 2, and nothing happened, Lewis wobbled slightly but came back firing. Lewis had a glass jaw, by the way, if you listen to some on here.

Now either VITLAY had **** power as he caught this 'glass jaw' flush, or Lewis didn't have a glass jaw at all...wonder which it is?

Who said that was Vitali's best punch? I never said Lewis had a shakey chin either, it was solid.

Anyway, the remtach would've been awesome, admit it. Who would not have wanted to watch that war?

Lewis won but he knew it was time for retirement. He has a great resumé & legacy, nothing to be ashamed of.
