Who wins? Both were great competitors in their times who never quite got ahold of the title. 15 rounds, both in their primes. Does the Firpo, who came back from a beating to knock Dempsey himself out of the ring, bomb Valdes? Or does the Valdes that managed to beat Ezzard Charles himself show Firpo why he was knocked out in the second round?
If this was happening tomorrow night, and my prediction was going to be put to the test, I would probably say Valdez. He was more technically refined, and he was fairly durable, although he could be stopped. Not a confident pick though!
