He was always matched to win but still got floored by Villani and Jamie Arthur. When he stepped up, he lost.

It was a good competitive fight throughout. Valdez has solid chin and was better than I thought, Valdez has a really bright future. There's nothing shameful about losing to a 2 weight World champion who was in the top 10 P4P in Frampton, and a future P4Per in Valdez, that's Quiggs only losses.

Look at the Boxrec top 20 world rankings. Featherweight is a strong division but Quigg would beat around 14 of those 20 I reckon so why the hell should he pack it in like some muppets on here have suggested.

it's funny how Ive heard yanks and mexcians comments giving Quigg credit for his toughness and for a good fight, yet most of the hate and negativity is on the British forum. hating on their own. I'm assuming a lot are Irish Frampton fans or fans of Galahad who has done nothing and shouldn't even be put in the same sentence as world level featherweights

yeah you are wrong. Frampton looked awful in the second half of his last fight.. he gassed out, far worse than Quigg looked last night.

Cheers Len. Exactly the fundamentals anyone is taught when they start boxing is to work of the jab. I think Quigg who is an orthodox fighter throw more right handers than he did with his left.

He should pack it in because he has visibly degenerated dangerously. He is now a face first brawler whose punches look like a wino swimming through treacle. That's why.

Alternatively there is a rematch clause. Will Valdez and Quigg do it all again? Would you want to see it again....Scott's face like a Star Trek character?
Can Scott even make 126 anymore? So many questions....

What? Now that's just plain wrong. It's irrelevant anyway, but Frampton looked a lot better than Quigg. So did his opponent.

You're word means nothing to the governing bodies. Galahad is no.7 with the WBC and no.5 with the IBF and rumoured to be fighting a final eliminator next.
Which world level featherweights has Quigg beaten?

I think some people just don’t want to see him get brain damage mate. He looks horrendous, like he’s been in some horrific car crash. In his last 3 fights he’s been stylistically reckless and seems to have abandoned the fundamentals that made him very difficult to beat.

Think the main difference is going up the weight plus not handpicking his opponents as much. Quiggs a decent enough fighter...he just doesn't have the ability to be real world class regardless of who trains him or how hard he trains. Its a lot easier to create hype in Britain than america. There's a much bigger pool across there...and as usual the masses are only really interested in the top guys. So they chuck guys in earlier in tougher fights to see who rises to the top.

Hes naturally pretty slow. Doesn't have great natural coordination. Doesn't have great power. Your gonna struggle at true world class level with out them attributes. For all the abuse Gallagher takes....no one will make quigg true world class. What he done tho was make him hard to beat...played to his strengths. Big at the weight. Got opponents working not giving too much away and ground them down by staying on them all night using his good engine. It was decent tactics tbh considering quigg is limited. Even roach isn,t really to blame...shown quigg a few tricks etc...but the boy quigg was fighting last night looked pretty much world class to me. He done the right thing against quiggs tactics took too much out of Scott them first few rounds. Had good power/speed. Could box etc. No one would have got Scott to outbox Valdez. I think Gallagher would have done a better job than roach tbh. Would have gave away less to Valdez them first three or four rounds. Valdez was pretty clinical with the opportunities Scott gave him by fighting a bit more open than Gallagher would have had him fighting.

No sure roach should be in corners anymore tbh. He's not in a fit enough condition by the looks of it. Pretty sure he didn't say a single word to Scott in between one of the early rounds when he needed him most. Should stick to training. Get a younger guy in for the corner work/mitt work etc.

On a side note quigg fought his heart out tbf...fantastic effort from him no shame losing to what looked like a class fighter in Valdez. They should get him back down a level after that last night tho. He,d be better rebuilding back in Britain.

I actually think Quigg could've won last night if he could have reproduced his best form and stuck to his jab and attacked the body from the start. 12 rounds us a long time for Valdez to last with THAT version of Quigg, plus the huge size advantage. Even with his current awful form he did trouble Valdez at times....although he was so much bigger it's hard to give him too much credit even for that.

Roach is useless in the corner. It took him half the minute break just to get the stool into the ring. Quigg would do well to have a good long think about the state roach is in today, and do the right thing....

Lens point about how slow Roache was getting stool in the ring between rounds is very true. My heart goes out you in for battling with a shitty illness but from a fighters point of view it's no good waiting around for half your minute off to get yourself a seat and for instructions to start. Remember Alex Arthur at one point after leaving the world class Peter Harrison had Roach training him over the telephone lol. Just like with Arthur Quigg would be better with a British coach. Not just saying it because he's on this forum but Billy Nelson would do a good job with Quigg as the two most successful boxers he's trained/helped train, Ricky Burns and Scott Harrison done the boxing fundamentals well and that's what Quigg needs to do.
