Exactly what we have been discussing in another thread . . . yesterday. Valero hasn't accomplished anything yet at this point for him to start bitching about money . . . he got a title after beating a 39 yr old challenger for a vacant title. If he won't establish his name by fighting fighters in the top ten rankings of his division . . . . he won't be getting breaks to fight the big names or even a unification fight. Sad . . . but true. :deal
In a way Valero has a point about Prescott, he shouldnt be getting a title shot, all he did was beat a green and somewhat over rated Khan. On the other Hand Valero hasnt really done anything to even make him think that he can make comments like that. Just as Prescott shouldnt get a title shot based on what he has done in the ring, likewise for Valero.
Agreed. I think it is because he knows he will be exposed so would ratehr make some big money rather than it happen against the Katsidis/Escebedo/Anthony Peterson-esque fighters of this World.
I remember Edwin went down pretty easily in his first world title match against Mosquera. I won't imagine what would happen to him if he takes that massive left hand which sent Ricky back to London in 2 rounds...
Prescot doesn't deserve a title shot. Antillon is more deserving, and isn't he Valero's mandatory anyway...not sure.
Well, thanks to your post, I just remembered that Valero actually got his hand on one of the belt.... now it is even more absurd.
Yeah, Valero winning titles at 130 and 135, and Prescott beating a prospect is the boxing norm to give a undeserving guy a title shot. Forget Valero's mandatory Antillon who won impressively Saturday. If fans had their say, mandatories and tops ten lists wouldn't exist. Fuk it make Prescot-Valero...the fans want to see if Valero can take his shot because Khan couldn't lol...:nut
Exactly ! Prescott - Valero would be interesting enough to make people read the outcome of the fight. Bring it on !!
