I just read that Valero was brought in as a sparring partner for Oscar DLH in preperation for Manny Pacquiao and Valero was the one who gave Oscar that shiner he was sporting during one of those 24/7 episodes. I always knew that Valero had power and its a possibility that Valero's power can carry all the way up to welterweight. He's hurting good quality guys (Barrera, Morales, Santa Cruz, Antillion, and now DLH) who are bigger than him in sparring with big gloves and head gear on.
Why would anyone care? They're pro fighters, so what if they give eachother black eyes? He's just talking to get attention, he's obviously out for some of that green stuff.
Valero is on the marketing train, trying to earn himself a career-high payday against De La Hoya in a fight where they do a 24/7 with De La Hoya saying, "Valero has said that he busted me up in sparring, now it is personal. I need someone like this who is calling me out to motivate me. I now must show Valero and the whole world what I can do when I am motivated." Just another day at the office.
Okay but I read that after 8 rds, Oscar didn't want to spar anymore ... Sparring is supposed to be practice and if you're bringing someone in as a sparring partner they're not suposed to beat your ass. Just like Paul Williams and Margarito --
