I have heard about (but never seen) certain sparring sessions with high level operators where he has come out looking very good. Maybe he is just a bit power happy in the ring, relying on that rather than falling back on a decent boxing game. We certainly saw a bit more of this game in the longish contest against Mosquera.

I'm waiting to pick against Valero (and JML) but I'm not sure this is the right fight.

The "experts" seem to be saying that DeMarco will have early success before being caught sooner or later with something but what about Valero's chin? What if DeMarco gets to him before Valero can get to DeMarco? :think

Abregu is on the televised undercard - he was involved in a slugfest last year against Irving Garcia. Hoping for a similar sort of fight tonight :yep

Yep, just a bloody brawl where both guys gave it their all. Young Greg didn't like it for some reason :huh

Valero showed very good recovery against Mosquera when he got put down. I'm not sure he's been down against any of his other opponents. For instance Pitalau is a ferocious puncher, but couldn't hurt Valero whenever he landed.

Pitalua really didn't catch him clean IIRC. I thought Valero looked outstanding in that fight btw.

But from such a puncher, Valero didn't even look fazed by the cuffing blows. He just kept on coming through. I think that is his main asset, he can give a good punch and take a good punch.

We'll find out a bit tonight though. Apart from maybe Mosquera, this is his hardest fight. DeMarco isn't a mug.
