I agree. I doubt Guzman would even fight him. I sort of would not mind it cause Guzman is supposedly such a great boxer and people keep trying to tell me how Valero won't handle that. Honestly, I think he'd mess up feather-fisted Guzman.

 

Yes, he needs names but also he has had a lot of things happen that have gotten in the way of that. Finally getting licensed in a U.S. state again is a step in the right direction. He's had a lot of setbacks so I can understand why he is eager to get to the biggest fights. The Bobfather says he's going to try and get Soto/Valero in the fall on one of the networks (I imagine HBO), which will help.

 

You are making a good point. I think Guzman beats Valero... a clear and wide UD. I think Guzman would make Valero look foolish.

 

I would not mind if Guzman and Valero fought each other. No matter who wins at least they would at least have a "name" on their resume so they can get bigger fights. And Valero might actually make Guzman fight in an exciting way (like his fight with Jorge Barrios)

 

I don't think Valero reaches JMM or Pac's level at the present, .... but I am curious.... Do you think that if Valero gets lucky and gets a fight with Hatton and beats him.... would that convince you or make you to accept that it is ok for Valero to ask for a fight against JMM or Pac....?

I'm not a Guzman fan but I believe he's better than the 24 TOMATO cans and Mosquera included that Valero defeated..

Yes that would convince me that he is worthy of a fight with JMM or Pac if he is able to defeat Hatton. Usually fans tend to completely count a guy off when they lose and sometimes it stays for long till that fighter makes a come-back and wins. Hatton is not a joke and his two losses are against two guys who are competing for #1 fighter of this generation.

Hatton would knock Valero out cold and completely thrash him. I would pick Malignaggi to UD Valero as well.

 

Guzman might be overrated but he's a very dangerous fighter, I wouldn't be confident backing up Valero to beat him if I were you.
