He was put on display last night and didn't disappoint anyone ... I think he has special talent that will be noticed once he takes that step up in class. I don't think he cares who he's fighting, he's going for the knockout and he's going to impose his will. It will be surprising to see someone actually stand tall against this man -- Like I said before, this mans power can carry up to 140 and 147
thats abit much imo,hes a hell of a puncher but ive not seen anything that suggests he can hang with elite fighters like marquez or pacquiao.
This has "Popo" Freitas The second coming part II written all over it. Granted that is not a bad thing at all, Freitas was fun to watch in his K.O. days It's once his power began to not be as effective with the step up in class. will be something to watch for with Edwin, but i'll admit with the 'dew & the fact that the wt class overall boils with "New" blood, all the OG's getting up there in age now. Valero is gonna be fun to watch.
I think his speed is elite speed ... and his power is elite power ... he's a fast starter and from what i've seen isn't affraid to take a punch. I know his skill isn't all that but I think he's fudamentally sound -- he has the ability to throw straight punches and good footwork. His headmovement is non-existant and he has no shoulder movement ... but I like his ruggedness ... he will knockout some elite fighters ... to be honest ... I think he can beat Pacquiao ... and Hatton ... and Marquez ... Juan Diaz ... Nate Campbell ... This guy is a force
"popo" Frietas ... isn't close to this guy ... he didn't have the heart or the level of confidence that Valero has ... he's like Vic Darchinyan ... but faster and more relentless ...
he ko'd a fighter who was almost 40 and other then the santa cruz win was unheard of , he'll get exposed soon enough
You're hoping he gets exposed but I wouldn't match him up with too many elite fighters with the risk of him knocking them out.
Freitas before people figured out his style was all about confidence & heart. That's what I mean about Step-Up, To early "Comp" wise to crown Valero anything, Dude has not fought anyone. We will get a chance to see if Valero has the heart once he fight's someone on the level he think's he is on.
so what if he hasn't fought anyone ... he just got his license to fight in the US ... it was a good debut to the American public and i'm looking foward to seeing him fight again ... Possibly against JMM for the undisputed title lightweight title ...
