Valero is too stiff, lacks head movement, exposes his chin, and fights too stiff.

I am surprised that no one has called him out.

He has the KO power so he will always be risky

Light Welters aint gonna call out a Light Weight
Marquez has sparred with him, but now is in the limelight to fight Hatton
    Khan aint gonna mention him

out of the Light weight contenders

Ali Funeka probably should call out Guzman for rematch

Nate Campbell can call him out but 135 is a difficult region for him these days

David Diaz, Barrera, Casamayor, shud call him out coz they aint been doing **** lately anyway

No, you have to get in the ring with them and show us how to exploit them.

Constructive criticisms is fine. That doesn't qualify though, Tommy.

Problem is he hits like a mule, and you are always taking that risk.

You weren't replying to me. You were replying to ricardinho, who's criticism was constructive if brief.

Addie I am sorry for not being constructive I apologize if your feelings were hurt. I hope my harsh comments did not bother you.

The proof is in the pudding Valero is highly flawed. He has some habits that will be exploited by his opponents. In fact he hired a world class trainer to help him and he refused to listen to him. The result was the trainer quit.

Personally, it is too late for him to change his bad habits.

As long as your sorry. You should be apologizing for saying Marquez was better than Barrera too. Blasphemy.

He does what he needs to do to win. If you are clearly the dominant fighter strength and power wise you have the luxury to be wild and take chances if you want to, especially if you sense your opponent is intimidated by your power.

Valero is an excellent counter puncher and has great ability to evade punches by slipping and taking a small hop backwards. Thing is, you rarely see this cuz Valero is rarely in any need to use any of this.

See the Mosquera fight. You will see how Valero's defensive and counter-punching ability turned the tide of the fight again and again back in Valero's favor when Mosquera managed to get a little surge going.

Valero is an extremely powerful puncher that has a monster left and genuine KO power in his great right hook as well. Do not be fooled at all by Valero's seeming wildness. He is a far more complete fighter than he appears to be and has more depth to his game than many realize. Scary thing is. . .he still isn;t remotely close to his full potential and development as a fighter.

He does have flaws. . like every fighter does. In my personal opinion, stamina is an issue with him and he seems to get gassed by the mid rounds, often breathing with mouth wide open. . .but he always manages to have enough left in the tank to get the KO. Also, he is quite an arrogant personality and he may not be the best at taking advice. That's always a huge flaw.

Also, obviously, his resume isn't good, he's my one of my fav boxers, if not my fav and i'm the first to admit his oposition has been subpar with the exceptions of Mosquera, Shimada, Honmo, and Pitalua all of which are competent professionals and solid B level guys, with the possible exception of Mosquera who may be a tad above. He'll destroy Demarco soon enough after he brushes Velazquez aside so everyone will soon begin to see where he stands. The elite LW's will soon have no choice but to face him.
