yes i watched it. firstly congrats to valero, he did what he was expected to do. i don't know how u could really say that demarco had the arsenal to defeat valero pre-fight. valero can only beat who is put in front of him. but demarco at times was just simply intimidated too much and just did not feel comfortable in there. again full credit to valero, he has that aura just like darchinyan does and once the opposition get a dose of the power from these guys they just go into survival mode for the majority of the time. that just makes it worse for them. if u cannot outbox valero then u may as well take the fight to him because u have zero chance of winning. easy to say that from behind a computer i know, but u see what i mean. when demarco did let his few punches go his was quite accurate at times. u could say he was overwhelmed by the event. his post-fight comments show he was bewildered by his performance. my personal opinion is that valero simply has too many flaws and will lose accordingly when he faces the top guys. pacman would tear him apart and embarrass him. i find it laughable that valero is being compared to him. but if valero chooses his opponents wisely he can stay undefeated for quite some time.
I'm a huge fan of Kats but Valero takes him out cold in this one. Be a great fight while it lasted though & Kats does have the power to hurt anyone if he catches them right.
Recent update: Basically goes on to say that Beristain does NOT want him to fight Khan, and thinks those 'organising' his fights are exploiting him. Better fight he believes is at lightweight, ie Katsidis' --------------- Nacho continues: "He (Marquez) came to see me a few days ago. We talked about all that and about some other issues. Juan agreed with what I had to say, and I saw him very eager to get back on track. Everything has been smoothed out and we both left content. In fact, he told me that after taking care of some personal business, he will come back later this week to begin working." Beristain goes on to say that Marquez "asked me to go with him to Los Angeles to work on the deal for his next fight, that his people (Golden Boy Promotions) want to match him with (Amir) Khan, but I told him that's not a fight to be taken lightly, as he (Khan) is very strong, and it's not a good fight right now, because he (Marquez) has not fully recovered from the Mayweather fight, which was just brutal." "(Marquez) should look for a different opponent, one in his own weight class, and he should not be exploited again. Khan is a junior welter and that's where they want to make the fight; I think Juan Manuel deserves to bow out like a true champion, and not by being anyone else's stepping stone." So if Juan Manuel Marquez takes to heart the advice of his long-time trainer, the rumored fight between him and Khan will now be ditched, and "Dinamita" would return to the lightweight division in which he so excelled in his only two bouts there. An interesting point to consider is that the Katsidis-Guerrero fight scheduled for March 27 has been shelved due to Robert Guerrero having to attend to the health of his wife. Thus, the possibility of a Marquez-Katsidis WBO unification bout can certainly be revisited. It would no doubt be a crowd pleasing match. Just an old fashioned scrap between an offensive fighter and a counterpuncher, with no weight related handicaps to worry about on either side for a change.
It will be huge fight for aussie boxing but very scary for fans of Katsidis I just done see how Mick can win this fight.
JMM would ended Katsidis career IMO he would get countered round after round with huge uppercuts and right hands, JMM is an unreal technician, fast but most of all so so smart in the ring. He has ring smarts akin with some of the best, he can figure out any fighter with seeming ease. If he had a little more power and better defense he would be where Pac is today JMM TKO5 Katsidis
Great summary of JMM's skill set. Case can be made that he is 2-0 against Pac. One of my favorites for sure.
Going up in weight doesn't work for many however how can anybody explain how dominant money was against JMM? I mean money had more speed, timing and better evasion, defence and footwork....these things dont come from weight issues. Money is king of the hill :deal Why is he not p4p number 1 :huh
JMM is an absolute shadow of himself at 147, and i totally disagree with you, i believe it was the weight that made this so lopsidded... JMM was slow off the mark, he gassed early, his speed was shithouse JMM vs Floyd at 130 or 135 looks much much closer (Floyd still gets him)... JMM at a prime weight is an animal, at 147 he is fleshy around the middle and looks every bit of 36... he doesnt have the frame of Pac to support these insane jumps in weight
So why did he take the fight then? Is it just the cash? Or did he think he's gotta good chance? Guys like JMM...P4P worlds best just dont throw it away?
he is getting on, people avoid him like the plague so he was after a big pay day... and im sure he figured that even if he lost to PBF his stocks wouldnt go down because people would say "oh he was above his best weight"... golden boy know exactly what they were doing put him in there with floyd
Agree to some extent....however I stil dont think he had no chance in his mind We know Money and JMM are top 1 to 5....what about John who beat JMM at his best weight.....Jmm got so frustrated that he started nut pot shotting to try to upset John....In the end lost a point for that ****. Chris is never talked about in todays top 10 p4p:huh
