With Valero headlining Latin Fury July 25th vs. the dreaded TBA, word is Joan Guzman may be on that card as well, and should both guys win, may meet in the fall.

This would a very interesting contrast of styles. One guys a ferocious and aggresive power puncher, the other a slick defensive boxer who USED to pack quite the whollup himself.

Who wins this matchup of top LW's?

Valero will get destroyed by Guzman. I wanna see this. Juan is way to skilled. If Mosquera put Valero down, Guzman is knocking him out. Wow, Valero needs to think about doing David Diaz or Sta. Cruz, or someone just a notch up from what he has faced. Instead, he is going several notches higher than what he has ever faced. Arum wants to milk Valero, Guzman aint a smart choice as of right now.

Guzman would totally humilliate Valero,i dont think Valero wins one round.
and after the Campbell debacle Guzman needs to redeem himself and thats bad news for Valero.

Guzman is the better boxer, but once you get caught your going down. I would take Valero by KO in the 9th, but he'll be losing on the cards like 6-2 before the KO

Guzman would take him to deep waters and he would drown.

even though guzman started at bantamweight he still has an excellent chin. and as wtyles make fights, stylistically guzman would be a nightmare for valero and pacquiao.

I see it the other way around. Both Valero and Pac are stylistic nightmares for Guzman. They are both fast, southpaws, good at closing the gap and pack alot of power in their punches. Pacquiao is great at timing people with his left hand (timing beats speed) and Valero is good at forcing people to open up and brawl, something that Guzman does have a tendancy to do.

Also Guzman has no pop for this weight. Soto was outweighed by 13lbs in the ring when he fought Guzman, but Valero and Pacquiao would not be.

Valero a stylistic nightmare for Guzman are you kidding me,a guy that only throws one-twos and the ocasional wide hook isnt going to catch a guy like Guzman.

Guzman has all the advantages over Valero other than power and you have more than power to beat a guy like Guzman.

i think pac would have slightly more success against guzman because he is more technically gifted, but valero is waiting to be countered all day, and guzman with his reflexes and speed would take advantage of that all day long. when valero brawls he is asking to be countered, he stands at 90 degrees with his to feet parralel. and guzman only brawls when he knows the fight is in the bag, he humiliates his opponents and then stands toe-toe and beats them to the punch with his speed.

guzman beat soto because he was the far better boxer, not because he weight 13lbs more. i don't think the weight would come into it cuz guzman has excellent stamina and can box beautifully for as long as he likes.

against valero i think guzman gives the guy a boxing lesson. against pacquiao i think it would be a much more closer fight with both fighters having the moment in the fight.

I honestly think Guzman will end up against JMM while Valero gets Juan 'Baby Bull' Diaz
