Valero vs Katsidis in unification fight, who wins?

I think Valero is overrated isnt a monster of a hitter and dosent have a granite chin all in all though hes an alright fighter. About same level as Katsidas.

He does hit hard but hes know superman and he is a sloppy finisher, Katsidas is tough and a sloppy finish could be all the time he needs to recover. Also i think katsidas defence is improving as he now as a rough and tumble defence as he rolls with shots and seems to take the sting off them.

I see Katsidas smothering Valero and stopping his leverage and out hustling him for a decision

I think Valero will get found out when he steps in class but I dont think Katsidis is the man to do it. He is an ideal opponent for Edwin as he keeps walk forward and looks for a war in every fight.

Valero punches awkwardly but I dont think there is any doubt that he has ko power in both hands. I would take him to stop Katsidis mid round.

The fight I want to see is Valero vs Soto. I think then we will see the myth of Valero exposed. Soto can mix it up but he can box smart as well.

 

Achillesthegreat that is the right answer. I for one will be wry excited were this fight to be made, but DeMarco is a start and personally I feel Valero should fight the man who has chased him to this division, Humberto Soto, before he fights Katsidis, who can tide himself over with a fight against Mitchell.

Pissed up at the Froch fight I shared my observation about Valeros lack of skill and urged John Murray to try and get a fight with him he didn't look as enthusiastic as I did mind, although to be fair it would be more intriguing than the Velasquez fight.

 

Soto is not that good. His pressure fighting was no way near effective enough against Guzman and he's not a good enough boxer to outbox the best.

 

Agree entirely. Lucky that Valero isn't 'the best'.
