It's apparent that these two guys are going to handle everyone in their paths. I think in a few years, they'll be the top two P4P fighters in the world, and wouldn't it be awesome if they were to meet at say....140-147 to see who's number 1?

Valero has about a 10lb head start on Rigondeaux, but I think they could wind up around the same weight eventually. Rigondeaux will probably be jumping weight classes faster, because 122-130 aren't quite as talent-rich or fan-friendly as 135-147. Valero will have a lot of fights open to him in those classes, so he'll probably stay around there for a while because he'll never run out of people to fight. It's conceivable that Rigondeaux will make his way up there eventually. by that time, Floyd, Shane, Bernard, and Pacquiao will be retired or seriously declined, so the top 5 p4p list will look a lot different, and I think these two guys will be in it and probably at the top.

How long until this happens, and who takes it?

another thread about over hype boxers that havent done **** yet but still htat doesnt stop people calling their bouts supierfights .. wtf you're talking about neither of this fighters are near the top of the p4p list.. and right now they are fighting in different weight classes.. and what has rigo done to make u think he just gonna walk over everybody from 122 to 135 and do you know both of this fighters are 28 yrs old... by the time rigo gets to 130 he'll be like 33 and valero will be fighting at 140 or maybe higher

Given that Rigo's probably fighting at 126 this year and will have maybe 4 or 5 fights there...and that there's practically nobody but Soto at 130...I'd say Rigondeaux will be at 135 in two years easily. Valero will be up at 140 by then, but like I said, there's a ton of fights for him there so he'll be at 140 for a while. I think in 4-5 years they'll both be at 140, or Rigondeaux will be and Valero will be at 147. They might come to an agreement to fight at a catchweight, who knows.

So in 5 years, all the guys that are top 5 p4p will be off the list. IMO, Valero is top 10 right now, and in 5 years he'll be higher and Rigondeaux will at least be on the list, if not near the top. They'll both be 33-35 years old or something like that.

What's Rigo done to make me think he'll walk over the guys from 122-135? Nothing yet. I just think it, that's all. We'll get a better idea when he takes on Caballero before he's even had 10 pro fights. That should give us some idea. in the meantime, I'll settle for the fact that he's KO'd 4 out of 5 opponents, 3 of them with a body shot. The EXACT SAME body shot, I might add.

Who from those weight classes do you think can beat him? It's all just speculation, but he seems a bit too good for anyone I can think of.

Which is what this thread's about. SPECULATION.

Rigondeaux is already nearing 30 and isn't even a full fledged featherweight. Valero will be at 140 soon chasing the big fights...they're just too far apart in weight and size.

I won't say it's not going to happen in a million years because then somebody will dig up this thread and go "hahaha **** you, dumbass!". I think I learned from some of the posters two years ago saying "You think Pacquiao can fight Cotto? WTF is wrong with you?". I'm not saying anything. You say "What if Darchinyan knocks out Margarito?" and I'll go "What the fu-...I suppose it could happen. We'll see." So, yeah,...maybe Valero and Rigo will fight a superfight. Maybe.

I think Rigo and Gamboa are good friends or something, but that's definitely a possibility...

Edit: Nevermind, I get it. That's definitely possible as well.

That is conceivable and that would be a true superfight for the future in my opinion. If things develop how they should, then Gamboa vs Rigondeaux would be a great fight. That is of course after Juanma and possibly Chris John are taken out by Gamboa.

And eventually, after moving up in weight, the winner could face Valero in a superfight with serious p4p implications.

At this point I'd favor rigo. Valero a little too stiff
