IMHO Valero proved nothing with the win over Pitalua, Sure he seemed much improved from previous fights but he still has room for improvement.

He should face Reyes, Khan, Marquez then maybe he can think of the big names, right now going after Manny would not be very smart. he could definitely win but it would be tough, Manny's defense has improved over the years and he's not the same wild man he was, This is why I see Valero winning against him, because he is reminiscent of a younger pacquiao, balls to the wall action. Manny has become a bit complacent as of late, he could have FINISHED DLH and he backed off, a younger Manny would have never done that, I understand respect for your idol but DLH didn't hold back against Chavez, and neither will Valero against Manny.

So for the Manny fans, you're right, your man would win IF THEY FOUGHT TODAY, but if Valero follows the right path which I believe he's on w/ Alcazar you have something to be worried about, This is the man to dethrone Manny.

He may be great in the future, but I need to see him in with a banger a step up over the likes of Pitalua. Barrios, Soto maybe even Juarez though he would be undersized.

Pitalua connected with a wild right to Valero's temple but I don't think it landed solidly to have tested his resistance to someone who can really punch.

yea he does... his movement isnt all that great, but his power is incredible, and his handspeed in the 2nd round against Pitalua was blistering.

I was very sceptical, but now i think, give him a couple of years and he will be very very good.

This is what I mean, he needs to step up with better fighters and all the kinks will be worked out as long as he keeps training w/ alcazar.

His ability to send a devastating punch straight down the center, and his arm extension, reminds me a bit of Pavlik, but with more speed. I wonder how he'll handle someone with great footwork and defense. That will be a real test.

I think Alcazar only had like three weeks with him, so he should be able to work out some of his kinks in a longer camp.

Tuck in his chin, get a little head movement and improve his foot work and he will be a monster down the line.

I admire your eloquence in debating your point. However Reyes, Khan and Marquez in that specific order would be a GREAT way for Valero to get his name out there, Defeating these opponents in THAT specific order with Hatton thrown in there somewhere would more than likely lead to Pacquiao who is the ultimate goal for Valero.

Don't let the fact that you admire a fighter take away from the fact that someone else might be better than your guy, Manny IS a better fighter than Marquez, it doesn't mean that Marquez sucks, nor does it take away from his accomplishments, there's always someone out there better.

Valero is still impressive...I wanna see him against Juan Diaz, Julio Diaz, and/or David Diaz to see juss how good he really is!! 25-0 25kos isn't bad either and he is doing what needs to be done!
