There's a short list of fighters whom Valero should fight; Soto Guzman Barrios Rocky Juarez All of whom would be good opponents -- Juarez especially since he's from Texas and is a legit 130 pounder w/ some clout and 3 title shots under his belt. Or Barrios who would fight anyone - anywhere - and is a former title holder.
Another thing I noticed....his chin is straight up in the air. Watch him jab, hs chin literally goes up as his right hand goes out. That'll be capitalized on, mark my words.
Valero is the man ... Pacquiao didn't want to fight him ... where they couldve fought in China, Japan, or the Phillipines where Pacquiao would stand to make alot of money and where Valero has clout and a decent name in boxing. Juan Manuel Marquez would lose to him ... you think that because Marquez is a great boxer that he would just out box him, but Marquez has shown a weakness for the left hand - given that Valero's a southpaw and has more power than Pacquiao in the left hand ... he could very much so knock Marquez out. Oh and yeah Valero does have one punch KO power.
He's just as fast as Guzman ... the same Guzman who's chin hasn't been tested ... and hasn't fought anyone outside of Soto ... Soto is too slow ... Juarez doesn't have a high enough workrate -- Barrios isn't fast enough either ...
marquez isnt faster, pac might be but not by much. Marquez barely moves his head, he's gonna be eating lefts all night. Valero looks to have crazy reach for his height, he can probably outjab both of them. I'm not saying power is all he has, I'm saying valeros A BEAST, nuff said.
You are trying to guage how he would do against proven world class fighter by usuing his present competition. That to me is a joke. Valero's chin is in the air, his hands are low, and he doesn't protect himself while throwing punches, yet you don't think Marquez could counter him? Lmao!! Your argument holds no water. Valero is unproven, nuff said.
Don't sleep on Valero ... he's going to beat alot of good quality guys and the fact that he's new to the american public, his stock is going to go through the roof. after 4 fights ... I can see him being a PPV attraction ... he's already been on PPV once in the states. He's very fast ... very strong ... and can work on his skills as he gradually faces bigger names ...
I got nothing against him. In fact, I wish him the best of luck. Theres nothing I like more in boxing than a beautiful 1 punch knockout. But the guy has major flaws right now, and thats what Im commenting on. If he improves, God bless him. But in my opinion, he better improve if he wants to beat the elite fighter out there.
I seen Valero's sparring against urbano antillon, the guy who knocked bobby pacqauio out in 1 round with a body shot. In the sparring match, valero was TOYING with antillon. He landed pratically everything he wanted to land and urbano has decent defence he has pretty good head movement. Urbano gives even pacqauio fits when they spar and valero made him look like trash. Valero is just... he's just a beast. You don't understand how good he is unless you are in the ring with him.
He's a monster that LOVES to brawl. However, he isn't one dimensional as some insist. Look at his sparring matches with the Santa Cruz bros, Valero can box as well.
The only flaw that he has is that he doesn't committ to his jab ... once he committs to his jab then he's going to be good. He paws with it now ... He also doesn't work on his head and shoulder movement ...
Yeah Santa Cruz is a legit LW/ SLW ... and he rocked him with one punch and he was constantly beating him to the punch ... this guy is far from one dimensional. He just needs to committ to his jab and throw that ***** with some authority ... instead of pawing with it.
