Valuev already did lose twice to Ruiz and to Donald.

The Donald fight was the worst decision I have ever witnessed, even worse than Lewis - Holyfied I.

Now, Valuev - Holyfied. Holyfield landed the only real shots and did not deserve to lose. It is a shame.

It is nothing against Valuev personally because he is a nice guy. It is just that Valuev is managed by German promoter Sauerland (who was also the promoter for Ottke). Corruption is widespread in Germany and Holyfield does not have Don King who could influence the whole thing. It is all politics.

I really believe Holyfield won that fight. He hella school Valuev. More active and landing a whole lot more power shots. This decision is a joke :patsch

Most forum comments went with Holyfield yet most official reports suggest Valuev controlled the majority of the fight.

    Who did win this fight?

I read an article one time that caused me to sympathize with the ogre for his freakishness.

That's over. When he raised his hand after the final bell gefore the decision was given, it was obvious he is a complete fraudulent piece of ****. He is a got damned Phillistine, someone is gonna hit his ass real hard between the eyes and decapitate him. The **** will be biblical. What he did in robbing a 46 year old Holyfield, and the fact that he got paid for it.

...that might as well be blood money. Death (by natural causes) to Valuev, it's only fitting he wears the same belt Ruiz had.

you see, the only reason why holyfield lost even though he shuldve won is because atlas picked him to win

...actually i dunno if thats true, but i can assume so

I've noticed that also. All the boxing sites say Valuev won, they don't seem to think there is any issue, they have all fallen in line with the WBA.

Holyfield took about 6-7 rounds, there were maybe 2 even, the rest Valuev just about took the rest. It was a robbery, Holyfield won be doing nothing, but Valuev did less than nothing to win this. A disgrace.

holyfield had that fight by the throat but his inactivity later on cost him. i was willing him on with everyone else but he just ran out of gas. it's that simple.

valuev was terrible, holyfield played the perfect game and would have walked that fight if his age hadn't of caught up with him.

I was obviously rooting for Holyfield, but scored the fight very objectively. I scored the first round even. I had Holyfield up by 1 point, if I had scored the first round for Holy he would have won by 2 points. Obviously there were some very close rounds, but Holyfield started way better, was more active and scored the clearer, more telling punches. Valuev basically didn't do **** except for some middle rounds. No way Valuev won this fight. So it's not about giving Holyfield the win in a close fight because he is a legend, no, Holyfield deserved the win.

I just think it's unbelievably sad that a magic night for boxing got ruined by incompetent scoring from the judges.

I totally agree with your post. Valuev got four gift decisions against Donald, Holy and Ruiz twice. Obviously they were all close fights, but Valuev doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the title. He remains a circus freak. Add to that that his fight against journeyman Bergeron was very close, maybe even a draw.

It is not that Valuev was active. What shots did he land then because all significant blows were landed by Holy.
It should be reminded that the left jab to the chest is not a scorring blow. Arms and chest are no scoring parts.

It should have been scored 115-113 or 115-114 Holy.

114-114 only if you give every benefit of doubt to the champ.

What a terrible fight and what a pathetic performance by Valuev.
