Valuev gracious in defeat

Another American bashing post disguised as a boxing thread. And by a Brit no less. Who could've seen this coming? :tired

 

forget the whole american/british thing but valuev is a classy man you could tell from how he conducted himself throughout the build up

Let's be honest Valuev always conducts himself well, he has class the man.

I think Haye needs to show some respect to Valuev and perhaps apologise for his pre-fight comments. He'll be much more likable if he does that and thats coming from a Brit. I like Haye, however the way he tries to sell his fights borders on desperate & arrogant. Valuev is a class guy, the way he gets lambasted for his height is unfair and he'll stick around in the heavyweight division. He's struggled since losing against Chagaev because fighters now know how to work around his huge height advantage. Valuev has to change his gameplan and have a plan B in the ring when things aren't going his way. I think a good battle of the jabs against Vlad would be interesting.

 

Valuev always comes across as a decent guy...I have no problem with him personally, and to be honest not much professionally. I just think he's in with some shady characters.

I do think that Valuev can still be involved with the contenders in this division. Like saintsmike says, a Klitschko fight could be a big money-spinner too. I think I'd back him to beat other contenders like Maskaev and Johnson too for instance.

 

How about Haye and Valuev each fight a Klitschko? Who wouldn't want to see Vitali-Valuev? & who wouldn't want to see Wlad-Haye?

 

I've always liked Valuev. Top man.

He can still make some noise in the HW division. Haye was just all wrong for him but against the other slower, plodding HW's he can do much better.

Valuev should learn to use his weight a bit more. I know it would be ugly and he wouldn't win many fans from it, but if he Ruiz's opponent's a bit more he could tire then out and slow them down.

 

I second that - I'm American and I don't know who you're talking about aside from Hopkins - I would say Mayweather, but he hasn't lost yet.

Watch AMERICAN Jermain Taylor if you want to see a class act that is gracious in defeat. Chris Arreola was gracious after losing to Vitali Klitschko. Paul Williams was gracious after losing to Carlos Quintana. It's not like it matters what country you're from - each country has its sore losers and its gracious losers. Don't be so narrow-minded.

 

It doesnt matter what country your from, i like how valuev didnt complain after the fight, i think the right man won and its going to make the HW scene very exiting

Valuev has gone up in my estimation, now. He seems like a great guy, and to admit defeat is a noble thing to do.

 

i was thinking the other day, valuel could be and should be unbeatable, i mean i dont know how much being big and heavy can affect the amount/intensity of your training, put could you imagine if he was fit enough to throw punches all round every round (even arm shots because im sure the weight of the would be efficient to keep someone from throwing back) and just kept backing fighters up throwing barrages of shots! anyone else see where im coming from?
