Valuev has a rematch option on Haye!!

Horrible news tho the way Valuev spoke post fight,I dont think he'll take it.

 

Come on Rob, at least put up a source or where you heard the rumour. Its pointless otherwise.

It Is True. Rob Schaefer mentioned it. Valuev won't take it imo i think he knows he hasn't got what it takes to beat Haye and i could see Valuev sliding away into obscurity pretty soon.

 

You sure he didn't say the Valuev fight is "an option"

I'm sure King will get a percentage of the next purse but has no rights over Haye's matchmaking. Haye said it in his sky sports interview on youtube

im not doubting him but you think he owuld have leanrt his lessson and name a source.

 

Completely disagree and still can't see why Haye got the decision. (I've seen the fight 3 times now)

Valuev performed better than he ever has done before on Saturday and, in my opinion, the judges were more concerned with avoiding a controversy than scoring the fight as it really happened. If Valuev had not been gifted so many decisions in the past he would have won the fight on Saturday.

Haye CAN beat Valuev convincingly with a better work rate. However, if the Haye who fought on Saturday turns up again, should there be a re-match, Valuev wins, easily.

BTW, Valuev deserves a re-match.

 

Have a look at his fight against Liakhovich some time, and the one against Owen Beck. Then the Barrett and Etienne fights.

Niko was better than he was against Holyfield I think, but I would still consider it one of his worst showings, not his best ever. Time and again he was either falling short with his jab or plain missing, and couldn't cut the ring off to save his life.

 

Well Haye has mentioned a rematch...why would he bother talking that up unless it was possible Valuev could enforce it. Haye has never been one for going over old ground, he always moves forward and seeks out the biggest challenges.

The fight was close enough to warrent a rematch but it seems the WBA Heavyweight title is a blackhole of constant rematches..... with John Ruiz in there as mandatory after losing a rematch to Valuev:huh.

 

His jab, which you would imagine to be his best weapon, was appalling. He was doubling up 2 o'clock 4 o'clock to a man who is significantly shorter than him and consequently the first jab flew over Hayes head and the 2nd one fell short at chest level....it was awful, and thats when he could pull the trigger. I would be truly surprised if he connected more than single figures with supposedly his best tool. I am astounded how anyone in their right mind could have scored the fight for Valuev, he did absolutely nothing other than hit fresh air and lumber around after a man who was always one step ahead.

 

Yes the beauty of the WBA once you've won there belt once you get as many mandatory shots at it as you like. Just look at how high they had holyfield ranked for so long. Oh I've just a worrying thought, WBA title which former cruiserweight will win Haye v Holyfield. Don't put anything past the WBA.

 

But I think Haye will win the rematch much more easily then this fight, does he really need to take it? Does he really need to prove anything fighting him again that he can't prove whilst fighting one of Klitschkos or others? Don't think he need to take this fight, bit pointless.
