about every jab Haye threw, he landed.

jabs to the body do count, and Haye landed at least ten every round.

The man is magnificent. He has the opportunity to be one of the 15 or 20 greatest heavies of all time. he ain't Lennox, but he should be Britain's second best ever.

I didn't really score the fight properly, i missed the first round (but gave it to Valuev in my overall scoring on the grounds that my card matched Watts fairly accurately and thats how he had it), so i'll have to have a look at that. I scored rounds 2-12 6-5 Valuev but i was being a bit of a negative nancy cause i was frustrated with how few punches Haye threw, so if it wasn't a clear Haye round (2,3,7,8,12) i more or less gave it to Valuev by default.

Close fight, could have gone either way imo, i think Haye showed that he was the more able fighter but was a little complacent. The 12th round told the story, Haye could have done a lot more and won without the controversy if he fought with more confidence.

They both barely landed. This fight has "disputed scoring" written all over it. So many unclear rounds.

It was a bit lacking, yes. I was hoping to see the cocky and arrogant Haye do his thing on Valuev, but he played it VERY safe.

But he won. More power to him. Now I hope he don't fight Valuev again, as King was saying. NOr Ruiz, as that'd be a waste of time.

Maybe you need both your eyes AND your ears checked, as you could easily HEAR Valuev landing when he ran into Haye instead of trying from the distance. Like I said, he did not do it enough, so I refused to score rounds for Valuev. But after all that smack Haye talked, running almost the entire round and then landing 4 punches doesn't cut it for me. If Valuev would have done the best he did in his 2 good rounds, he would have won the fight, but, he didn't. He let this fight slip away trying to land from the distance when he should have seen that he can't connect than. So maybe it's time to call it a day and retire, he won't get any better. I was sitting through enough of his fights to get bored from that. Let Haye back up his motor mouth with REAL fights. Ruiz IS a good test for starters. If he then starts the Rahman-Austin-Golota tour, **** him. With a baseball bat. If he steps into the ring with a Klitschko with boxing gloves on, props to him.

Valuev, but it was a pretty poor fight all told. 7-5. Pretty much evident from Haye's busted face.

could care less what he does for Britain, your country, he's my favourite boxer because boxes how I think people should box, and how I boxed, not that Im saying I was nearly as good as Haye or anything, but he CLEARLY won.

If I boxed Hayes fight tonight and nayone even so much as hinted that I should have lost the fight, I would question their sanity.

Oh, and yes, Dirrell did 10 times as much as Haye did.

    10 point MUST, remember ;).

tho there did used to be a 5 point scoring system and - in many ways - i agree it might be a better way of judging close fights. :good

Oh please, we would all love for every boxing match to be a slugfest non stop exchange bell to bell, but if Haye did that it would be TKO 1 Valuev, I've followed Hayes career from the start and noticed that he has the emotional problem of getting involved in exhanges when he's hit, know what happens when you do that? you get hit, and you get knocked out.

this is like floyd haters saying "oh hitting and moving isnt fighting". If a guy can hit you and avoid being hit by you, then sorry, but by definition of the sport he is a better boxer than you. some people just arent satisfied.

Very boring fight. A draw would have been fair. Landing one power punch in the last 30 seconds of each round if that doesn't win you a round. I had the fight a draw. Neither man did enough to win it. Lol at those who thought that Haye would get robbed. They have no clue how big the British media are and how much pressure they put on the Germans with their incessant Haye will get robbed whining. If anyone was robbed it was Valuev. Kind of ironic.

My country... yer b*stard. Fair enuf, but I agree with everything else.

But I am a fan because of how good he is. The silly nationalism that I have does mean that I will support him over my other fave heavies - Toney and Holy. But I would still support them over, say, Bruno.

For example, I could never stand Maccarinelli (a bit off, cos he's clearly a nice guy).
