Ruiz isn't unskilled. Watch his fight with Chagaev, he landed uppercuts and hooks from close at will, before simply running out of breath due to the high pace. Ruiz developed that ugly style in an era of huge powerpunchers, because he had to. In his recent fights, he does much better, not without technical merit.

Haye vs. Ruiz definetly will show something. But only a fight with both Klitschkos will show the truth what happens. I would be seriously astonished if Haye really fights either one next year. Expect the bum of the month tour for at least a good year or two.

I had it 120-107 Haye. Two point 12th round for Haye though 120-108 is fair

You're a Belfast lad and you say "could care less", rather than "couldn't care less"!!

What the ****'s wrong with you??

At least consider the meaning of both phrases!!

And when the **** are we going to get this Darren Corbitt thread??

If you're not throwing punches it's called running.

check the punch stats, if Haye can land a punch, so can Valuev, and Haye was landing plenty while Valuev missed.

I disagree. More aggression from Haye possibly sees Valuev getting knocked out at any time. I said this before the fight and still feel if Haye had turned it up he could have put the giant to sleep. Of course, Haye has a horrible chin himself and was protecting it all night long.

I think Haye would KO Ruiz, his speed and power is something that Ruiz at this stage in his career isn't going to like.

It'd probably be a more entertaining fight than tonights fight though.

Yep. Ruiz at this stage likely gets knocked out by Haye since Haye will let his hands go because Ruiz isn't a big power puncher and has slowed down at this stage of his career.

Sounds like a draw, but you have to admit Haye did more, and even wobbled Valuev.

I did not see the fight, but I'm glad Haye won only because the HW division needs some new blood. Valuev, Ruiz are old news. Haye, and Adamek are what we need right now....and both I think would offer real challenges to the Klit bros.

Now Haye needs to fight once or twice (and NOT against Ruiz) at HW to solidify his position then we get a massive HW bout with him against a Klit Bro, and Adamek against another.

I scored it a draw so it was no robbery. Shocked that Haye got it in Germany though...I guess those options with Sauerland/King may have paid off. It was an awful fight apart from the one moment haye had in last frame. I think Haye's big last round are making a lot of people forget it was a close fight. Haye gave away about 4 rounds by doing nothing. I think all the sky announcers had it for Valev.

Im just glad that joke Valuev is out of the picture. I actually had him losing his last two fights: holyfield and ruiz...and drawing here lol

Exactly. Boxing is not about who does more damage to the air, but who does more damage to his opponent.

Haye did everything well enough to clearly win for me. I didn't root for anyone at all but i was impressed by everything Haye did except him holding his hands low like he's a young Ali
