    Thanks for the kind words.

I just meant that nobody should have expected the fastest paced fight, or any punch stat records to be broken considering who the participants were.

The fight did not hurt to watch at all.

It hurt to listen to, with the poor commentary though.

The fight may have been boring but it still doesnt make it okay to rob the man, Hell Baldimor Mayweather was a snoozer to imagine had they given that to Carlos.

The point is, the fight wasnt boring due to Evander by himself, Goliath (Valuev) did absolutly nothing to defend and retain his title. it takes two to make a fight, Holyfield fought the right fight that would lead him to a Victory with out taking too much punishment from the younger fresher bigger man.

People can say what they want about Evander but IMO, since he came back and fought Bates he has looked alot better than he had when he was fighting Toney, Byrd and Donald.

Even in Holyfields fight with Ibragimov, I felt that, that fight was a very close fight, I had it 115-113 for Sultan, the point i am making for a man at this age being as "Shot" as he is, somehow recently he has still been able to compete with the current belt holders today, now that either says alot about how the Divison has fallen apart, or it just points out how Great Evander Holyfield really is.

Because look who he was fighting man. Bates was a part time fighter.

I'm not saying Valuev won the fight but to say Holyfield handed him his ass is a gross misinterpretation of that fight.

Oh!! My bad! I see what you mean now, people shouldn't have expected Hagler/Hearns in other words.

BTW, noted at the bottom of the article about the radio show, and guarantee I'll be checkin that out. I also have always enjoyed Ice Scully's views and stuff as well, so count me in.:good

Yeah, doubtful they will actually overturn the decision. And although I think Holyfield obviously deserved it, it would set a bad precedent, and Valuev would likely have grounds for suing them anyway, unless some malfeasance could be proven (like bribes to the judges).

Most likely they will order an immediate rematch. Which is exactly what they should do.

That really does surprise me; I gave Holyfield 2 rounds at best, and judging from all the reports of the fight it looked like everyone else was thinking along those lines as well, 2 or 3 rounds. Maybe a poll could be run here to get ESB opinion.

Ibragimov did not perform all that well against Holyfield but still clearly outworked and outpunched him. The difference with Valuev is that he barely outpunched Holy and certainly didn't land such good clean shots doing it.

Possibly fewest landed punches through 12 rounds in a heavyweight title fight. That might be a stat that fight broke.

The WBA should reverse the decision and award the title to Evander.

Who was robbed by the crooked judges.

To me the fight I saw wasnt even a fight, it was world class sparring, Holyfield landed the bigger shots all night, I mean his shots were just more telling than Sultans, and Sultan was in reverse most of the time.

The fight IMO was close, heck I even think one of the judges had the same score card as I had. The problem with public polls in the forums when it comes to this fight or the Valuev Holyfield fight is that most people here saw those fights on a laggy internet feed, making it harder to see the entire fight becuase it would freeze due to lag.

I had ordered them both and beleive the fight I saw with Ibragimov was a clear win for Sultan but Holyfield himself did not look shot, and isnt that what a younger world champion is supposed to do with a man they are saying is shot? make him look his age? Holyfields last two fights were against world champions and neither of them came close to making Holyfield look 46.

It was a sparring match all the way---minus the headgear.... BUT! I still had Holy landing more and better shots over Nick Valustiff after 12 dull rds..... I had Holy winning 117 to 111...... The fight was dull, however, that is no excuse to ream a guy who traveled overseas to get a title shot at a fabled giant in Nick Valustiff..... The scores were horrid.....
