I must say, from the weigh-in pics, Holyfield actually looks younger than Valuev. He's definitely in better shape...Valuev has a very weird looking stomach crease, and his body just doesn't have any definition anywhere. He just looks like a bigger version of an "average joe". Holyfield is a very live underdog!
Thanks, BFBG. But I think you missed the point. I wasn't speaking specifically of the Valuev/Liakhovich fight. Just comparing the 2 guys to say that if Valuev were of similar size, he would be a very similar fighter to Sergei at his best.
True. If he can fight half as good as he looks, he should easily win. Unfortunately at his age, although the looks are still there, the fast twitch muscle fibers just don't fire like they used to. Maybe he has one more left in the tank...we'll know in about 24hrs.
I've only seen Valuev fight once, maybe his last fight and the guy just couldn't get past the jab,it was ridiculous.I can just imagine Holy's head been a magnet for the jab all night long
Holyfield, as always, looks in fantastic shape and he's 46 years old! Valuev trains like an animal, but for some reason he looks like he's never worked out a single day in his life.
One thing that Valuev impresses me with is his dedication and fitness. He always seems to be coming in lighter and lighter and his stamina is excellent. He should be commended for that considering some of the slobs we have residing at heavyweight.
Nick Valuev is huge... If he wasn't boxing, he'd be 400 pounds with ease.... I thought Valuev looked a little soft in the belly and sides even at 325 pounds, so 310 ought to be very lean and tight.... Holy is typical at 214 pounds.... Peace.... MR.BILL:hey
I think a few rounds (3) would be it. Maybe he can turn the clock a little, but i don't think so. Valuev comfortable UD or late mercy stoppage.
