He should retire. He lost to Holyfield and Holyfield was robbed. This was a big shame for boxing and for Valuev himself.
Sounds like he plans to continue fighting, at least that's how I took it. The possible retirement seems slight, in my opinion. I think he could still wrangle a Vitali fight, after Vitali fights Sosnowski. Who else is there for Vitali, aside from Haye? Vitali will come callling on Valuev again, I would think.
Jesus. Give the man some respect. He may not have talent int he literal, boxing sense, but you newver saw him come in overweight, or quit on his stool. He came in, did the best he could, and, to an extent, overachieved.
Lot of know nothing **** talkers in here. Was he the best, no but show some respect. Look at all of the other 7 ft tall Heavyweights to ever fight, most only had 1 fight which they lost this man had 52 and won 50 of them, that's impressive. The man came all the way from living in a one room apartment with his wife to WBA champion of the world. He will probably go down as the second best Russian Heavyweight to ever fight behind Alexander Potvetkin. At the end of the day, that is pretty damn impressive.
I don't understand the disrespect for him. Sure I wasted money watching him before and hated watching most of his fights. But he is a nice fellow who tried his best. He's a respectable man to me. A polar opposite of someone like Haye, who ran from him in fear.
Valuev should have taken the Vitaliy's offer. I am sure he would love to but the greedy Don King let him down. Valuev was a humble and modest guy. He did not claim he was something special. He was doing his job.
:good I agree guys ! You speak the truth ! The guy gave his best ! He is a two time World Heavyweight Champion !
