I dont remember what the **** I was doing but I missed that fight. Exactly how bad did Sergei do? Kinda sad, I had high hopes for him after his fight with Brewster.
Sergei was very game, but post knee surgery Valuev was damn impressive, no matter what anyone tries to say. Valuev moved much better and threw his jab often and with more authority. He put Sergei at the end of his jab at the outset of round 1 and Sergei tasted it for 12 rounds. It was very one sided. Complete domination.
love to actually see the fight..any links how was Sergeis face..any swelling, bledding, etc.? Was he any time at all stunned?
I am pretty sure just bruised and swollen. It wasn't really exciting, because once Valuev put Sergei over his knee, it was very methodical. He just flat out owned his ass with the jab. It was thorough...
Valuev looked pretty good in that fight. His jab was very elusive, the white wolf took nearly every Jab. Valuev won EVERY single round, very impressive. The main question still is. Was Valuev so good or was Lyakhochich so much out of shape? Both things fit here. Valuev moves a little bit better and he has got a pretty good jab. But its also correct to say, that L. was completly out of shape. He was 8 kg overweight and he did not even try to do something.
Yes, he was cut and bleeding as early as round 2. It did not really escalate to grotesque proportions, but his faced was heavily marked at the end of the fight. He was stunned a couple of times when Valuev for a change put his weight behind the right hand, but he recovered well. He has an excellent chin as he showed by taking monster shots from Brewster.
Agreed with all that. Liakhovich seemed to come in with a very one-dimensional gameplan and wasn't expecting Valuev to fight as well as he did. I was impressed with Valuev's jab the most, he was doubling and tripling up on it, looked very thudding.
I did a round by round for this. And if I remember correctly I didn't give Lyakcovich a single round.
Damn , sounds like a blow out. And whats with him coming in outta shape? I remember a photo of him before he lost to Pineapple-Head and he was so outta shape someone one here ( I forget who but it cracked me up..) labled him *****-Tits
Briggs and Brewster both ruined him. I know alot of posters out there hate Briggs, but the man is extremely heavy handed, he landed far less punches than Lamon, but in the end got the job done and knocked Liakhovich out of the ring, something a power punching Brewster couldnt do.
