4 once I dont agree with you on that Lee. Being the WBA champ would give him better clout when negotiating with the Klitschkos down the line. That in itself will get him a better deal than he had before no doubt. I do agree though that his resume, assuming he beats Ruiz Saturday which I think he will, is a solid 1. People r talking about the Heavyweight division and checking out possible fights and its down to David Haye and hes only had 3 HW fights in total. Not bad at all
I've just been re-thinking about the possibility of a Valuev re-match. Although it would hold him back for 6 months, it wouldn't be such a difficult fight to sell in this country. That is thanks to Sky, especially Jim Watt, who left many people thinking that Haye had been gifted a decision. Many will tune in hoping to see the "right" man win this time.
You could get the best marketing people in the world together and they couldn't sell that fight again. The first time round they did a great job but people didn't know. Because of how the fight went, there is no way the casual would pay for a rematch. The first affair was too boring. Watt is a fool if he thought Valuev won that fight.
But those casual fans are the ones who still insist on telling me that Valuev won. I seriously think that there's room for marketing another fight with them.
It appeals, not 2 be rude but the circus nature to the fight would sell anyway. Then as you say you'll have people watchin 2 c if haye can beat him more convincingly this time. After the wobble in the 12th people'll be intrigued to see if haye would even stop this guy. Without a damaged hand will Haye be more assertive earlier in the fight? I think this fight sells 2. Vitalis got Sosnowski fight, Wlad may have Povetkin if he finally uses his opportunity or Samuel Peter after winning his eliminator so Hayes not gotta rush into those fights anyway
