Everybody keeps saying this, but I tend to disagree. In the Monte Barrett fight, I saw Monte rattle Valuev a bit with those looping wild punches he landed squarely on Valuev. Im not saying that Valuev was in trouble or anything, but I did see him falter a bit. And I haven't seen the last Ruiz vs. Valuev fight yet so I can't say with certainty, but I heard that Ruiz should have been given a knockdown at one point. Any truth to this?
Valuev never fought anyone with Briggs-like power. The biggest puncher Valuev fought was probably Ruiz or McCline. Both of which have averageish power. Valuev's giant head will be a great target for the Cannon.
I am thinking the same thing. This is of course assuming that Briggs is in decent shape and doesn't gas out early.
That's true. Iggy had Shannon down on the canvas but that was because the big lug fell over.....................
I notice there was no source for these rumours. Isn't the WBA all tied up with its "recess" champion and Ruiz mandatory BS? And in case no one noticed, Briggs isn't in the WBA top 15 (according to FightNews; the WBA rankings haven't been updated on their website since November(!!) And Briggs wasn't in them then). So anyway, I dont' even see this as a rumour. I guess it's amusing to the thread starter to see reaction, but it's basically a fantasy matchup - it ain't happening.
Complete bull**** thread because Valuev and Chagaev will have their rematch between May 30 and June 27, Sauerland and UBP are in negotiations at this moment. :deal
