I am really curious if they are going to salvage the date and try and find an immediate replacement for the July 5th fight and call it the title fight.

And by going over the rankings, Ruiz is the only fighter I see on the list that would have the balls to fight on such short notice.

I'm fairly certain you can't fake an injury like that. I think some are being a little to harsh on Ruslan, to be honest. There is no way you would fake in Achellies Tendon injury...he'll be out for a year, what's that going to get him...silly.

Its a slop bucket of a division, perhaps the worst ever in the history of the division. To think that Wlad could become the Undisputed Heavyweight champion of the World by beatng Chageav, Byrd, and Ibragimov. Jesus wept.

No, you cant fake an injury like that. I think fans are justified in being pissed off at Ruslan, this isnt the first time he pulled out of a fight for weird reasons within the past year, he fought Valuev in April of 07, since then he fought Skelton in a very lame fight, he's the WBA champ and he's just holding up progress, just like Vitali did from December of 04 to December of 05, until he was forced to give up the belt.

Thats cut the bull****, if you cant defend the title give the belt up, it's only fair to boxing fans and other fighters alike, they deserve there chance to, to prove themselves.

Good. I didn't want to see that crap anyways. Now Chagaev should be stipped and they should let Povetkin and Areolla fight for the vacant title.

Why not have a contest for the title? Peter, Povetkin, Virchis or maybe Haye?

:rofl Oh yeah, I think I seen some thread regarding him being a future Heavyweight ATG, thats all the division needs. two glass jawed Heavyweights ruling the division, one is bad enough(Wlad).:-(

Given the ammount of grief that Valuev has gone through to try to get this fight set, I can't see how they could in good conscience have a fight that didn't have him as one of the two fighters.

Wrong...without even having to go back further than the 80's, the era post Ali through pre Lennox/Evander was much worse than this era. Holmes, Tyson and then a bunch of HORRIBLE fighters.

I think now is very comparable to then, guys like Witherspoon, Smith, Berbick, Page, Cobb, Green, and a few others werent too far off from Peter, Chagaev, Iggy, Valuev, and Povetkin. I would actually say some of the 80's fighters had a higher skill level to some degree, I think the early to mid 80's are pretty even with the mid to late 2000's fighters.
