Ive just read in my local newspaper that Valuev didnt want to fight Vitaly Klitchko for 1 million dollars. He said Klitchko called him and proposed an offer for same money K.Johnson got (1 million??). I don't know if this old news, just thought that might be interesting. I think 1 million is pretty good offer for fighter like Valuev at this stage of his career.
I dont now how much heavyweights usually make but if welters can get 10 million for a fight valuev should atleast get 3 or something llike that. I would like to see that fight though, vitali's akward style vs the featherfisted giant.
Pampered welterweight superstars and very low activity, low star quality, low excitement generating heavyweights coming off of losses are lucky to get a million dollars. Although it's an insult to get the same amount as a virtual no name fighter with no title attached to his record like Kevin Johnson.
1 million isn't a lot these days for such a massive (no pun intended) fight... I really believe Valuev should get more out of this even if he doesn't have much of a chance against Vitali. So it looks like we get a Haye - Valuev rematch afterall atsch
...You can't say **** like that to me, I'm about to go to sleep and now I'll have nightmares. About Jack and the beanstalk. And the hairy giant.
I'd also like to say this would go from being a little bit of an insult to a complete slap in the face if Valuev had a title or were coming off a big win. But really, where is he going from here? One last big pay day or what?
Valuev is worth more than $1million to Klitchko, and he knows it. If I were Valuev I wouldn't settle for less than $2.5million.
Valuev is nothing worth. He lost to Haye and to an old Holyfield, he refuses to fight Chagaev for the WBA Title. And he refuses to fight Wlad on 20th of june. He should be lucky for this chance.
KJ got $1 Million for the Klitschko fight? Damn no wonder he ran all night to avoid a knockout so his stock didn't dramaticly fall, means he could probly get a similar payday off Wlad What a clever **** fighter
From what I read on most boxing sites I think Kevin's stock fell more with his running and not even trying to win, then if he would have gone toe to toe and ended on his back within 4 rounds. For me he made a fool out of himself, and I never want to see a KJ fight ever again.
Probably just an initial offer to test the waters... VK knows Valuev is worth more then that, even without a belt (although if he still had the belt his value would have more then double). Heh, here we are discussing the financial and legacy value of Valuless.
