Looks like it could happen this fall. The former WBO vs the former WBA champ. The winner would likely be in line for another title shot. Who do you guys think wins?

Liakhovitch would probably win...but what happened to Virchis fighting him?

I will never look at Sergei the same after his Briggs performance. Sergei is a one hit wonder until proven otherwise.

I have to admit: I'm curious who would win this bout, although I'd never consider watching it. It makes sense as a match, and would be a more appropriate path to get them back into the top 10 than fighting a bunch of (even worse) stiffs.

Could be just an excuse, but his camp is supposedly saying he was injured prior to that fight. He was clearly not in condition, IMO, but whatever.

I'm not sure if it's a very exciting matchup stylewise, but it's a competitive and close fight. Lyakhovich should be favored to win.

Give him a break...you already know about his condition going into that fight, we've all been over it before. He showed up like a champion is supposed to, and beat Briggs enough over the course of 12 rounds to be ahead on everybodys scorecard until Shannon's Hail Mary connected. Not taking anything away from Briggs, he just looked like every breath hurt...

You might be right about Sergei being a one hit wonder, but if he takes this fight with Nico-LIE that would make his last three opponents; Brewster, Briggs, and Valueless. That's not too bad in todays HW division. I look forward to the fight.:smoke
