Theres no way Valuev won that, how can anyone score it for him? He landed literally less than 10 punches the entire night, and none of them significant.... Haye should have thrown a bit more, been busier and gone after Valuev a bit more, but he fought a good fight and landed with consistency - not much, but what he threw, he pretty much landed. Easy fight to score IMO. Plodding forward and missing widely with crude arm punches does not win the fight.
Agreed to a degree, he showed Valuev too much respect and was fighting too cautiously. Maybe just going in like that with a few big combos just once per round would have been better. He says he broke his hand, so perhaps a bit of benefit of the doubt, but I think that was probably secondary to being overly respectful of Valuev. When he wanted to he could hit Valuev easily and without much risk with the lead right or a one two - just slip past the jab, quick sidestep and bang. Nevertheless, he won that fight easily.
i have still to see the fight yet, but i love when a person scores a fight by one point for a fighter then blatantly puts 'he won' as if its the be all end all... lol. whatever, from what everyone seems to be saying it was a very close, hard to score boring fight.... thats too bad, but i think it was hopefully just the matchup, i expect haye to bring more when he faces ruiz.
Theres a reason he did it in round twelve, because it was hte last round, time to remove all doubt, he COULD have stayed back and not even thrown a punch, but David Haye knows what judges are like, he's extremely intelligent in the ring and outside. That last round was dedicated to people like you. He was saying "See? I can hurt him if I want, but that's just not the smart thing to do from round one upwards, because I could get KOd." Watch ANY of Hayes other fights, he fights the complete opposite of this, that proves he can adapt and is anything but a one-dimensional temper-tantrum sort of fighter.
So he stunk up the joint for the remaining 11. Nice, especially for the saviour of the HW division, that will rid us from the "boring" Klitschko's. Who by the way keep knocking guys out left and right. We've seen that in the fights buildup :rofl Exactly. He showed he needs to stink up the joint because of his chin. He proved that at HW he needs to run, otherwise he will get knocked out. Expect worse stinkers from the great adapting David Haye as he faces bigger and faster punchers than Valuev.
the saviour? he isnt Jesus, who by the way has had 2000 more years than Haye to prove himself, Haye has done that even quicker. give the guy a chance, you sound like someone who has, at least subconsciously, hated Haye since the get-go without actually watching him fight objectively.
Then he should not have pretended to be Jesus. I gave him a chance, this was it. We've been hearing him run his mouth for **** knows how long, and this is what he pulled off. His loud mouth gave me all the reason I needed to dislike him, and he has just shown that he can't back it up.
I can't help but look at your avatar and actually picture you as that sort of drill sergeant guy, not to sound like a stoner or anything, but mellow out, he won the fight, he was disciplined, outboxed Valuev, connected more, avoided more, and did exactly what he wanted to do, with no resistance. Sorry sir, but facts are facts.
Your statements are just from your own 'thick as ****' brain, nothing behind them at all. Like many on here you think your opinion is fact when it is actually nothing at all. Good day
I am as mellow as it gets don't worry. This was what he wanted to do? Throwing a stinker while running from the slow plodding big man? I got a completely different impression, hearing him talk and talk and talk endlessly over the past few years about knocking people out. I appreciate pure boxers and movers, but it wasn't pure boxing. He did not outbox Valuev, but I think he could have if he tried. If this is how Haye needs to fight at HW, against a not so big puncher, then I'm not very interested in Haye at HW. And he should also seriously consider shutting the **** up about knocking people out and saving the division, it's a bit laughable after seeing him run for 35 minutes.
