I'll try to get a clip for him but Barrett did knock down Haye but as soon as he did he hit Haye on the head when he was down, so the ref took a point away as I recall.
Yeah Valuev usually takes flush shots to the head pretty well. I'm just curious how Haye will react from the first flush shot from Valuev. People think Valuev won't land but trust me he'll land some shots. And I still think Haye's chin is below average at heavyweight.
I can see Valuev keeping Haye at distance all night, moving away from his punches when he needs to. I can also see Haye landing a big one on the side of Valuevs head and sending him to the ropes. Its hard to call this fight because, as we all know, Haye has no pedigree at HW.
Personally I think Valuev is underrated on ESB. Sure, his opposition was **** and he lost to Holyfield. He was bad for boxing. But he's not a guy that's easy to beat. You need to be disciplined for 12 rounds to beat Valuev like Chagaev did and I don't think Haye has the footwork or the mentality to do it. If someone is getting knocked out it's Haye.
Barrett seemed to stun him for a moment, landing flush wide looping shots from close distance in a row, in the first or second round. But that didn't last long, and astonishingly, Valuev was able to take a lot of such flush shots without losing substance over the rounds. Any other heavy who takes such shots in such a number would have got floored, Valuev was a sucker for a looping overhand from close when he forgot to hold. The most Valuev was stunned was in the final rounds of his fight with Taras Bidenko. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaigdKiO8Xc[/ame]
i'm not a boxing historian mate so have no idea. i'm not talking about a Joe Calzaghe typical TKO here, i'm talking about Haye hitting Valuev hard then rushing to finish him off with hard fast unanswered combinations. I dont believe the ref will stand about waiting for the KO.
Valuev's chin will hold up for sure. In fact, I doubt Haye will connect that much to his dome. Whether Haye will tire will likely depend on whether Valuev can rough him up in the clinch and that depends on Haye's footwork and the ref.
Valuev's chin is legit. He took numerous hooks from Chagaev throughout 12 rounds and didn't even flinch. Haye will hurt him, but I don't see him flooring Valuev.
Valuev is huge, no doubt. I do see Haye letting the Hayemaker fly come tomorrow night. Thats hope Haye wins for the sake of the dying heavyweight division.:good
Haye's stamina will be pushed to the limit, no question. Valuev will try to keep Haye on the end of his jab, but Haye will obviously have to work his way inside, where Valuev will hold and lean on him. And when you are as big and heavy as Valulev, it won't take much to wear you out.,
