Vanes Martirosyan vs Maciej Sulecki? Who do you have winning? I never seen Sulecki fight except for some Hugo Centeno jr. highlights. The winner of this fight has to take on Jermell Charlo. If Martirosyan wins, I'm not sure Al Haymon will allow him to fight Charlo because he left him as an advisor.
I favor Sulecki, but Martirosyan definitely has a good chance to win this fight, but he hasn't fought since the Lara fight which was back in may 21st of 2016 and that would plague him.
I have to slightly favor Martirosyan, i think Lara 2 could have gone either way. The problem with Martirosyan is he is a really good fighter he just needs to really let his hands go. I'm hoping he could get the Charlo rematch.
Really wish Vanes didn't basically **** his career away with these long stretches of inactivity. He's a fine performer in the ring...
I'm sure I've definitely watched Sulęcki before, just can't place him (nothing about him inside the ring sticks out in memory) but yeah, he does have a few nice scalps in the last couple of years and would on paper seem to be a legit threat for the Nightmare...but for some reason I have this automatic compulsion to favor Martirosyan over anybody that isn't thoroughly proven beyond a certain level (maybe because he was for so long a kind of widely avoided bogeyman/monster of sparring legends, and then a pain in the ass for every B+ to A guy he fought), even though you're right, dude's been MIA for a while.
I mean...not going by his %, no, but he clearly has enough power to stop Findley, Centeno & Proksa. That's enough to convince me he's no feather-fist (I mean, you have to be a good deal more than simply "not a feather-fist" to seriously hurt Vanes, but at the very least it won't be like Vanes can just walk through Sulęcki and not respect anything he throws)
