Vanes got robbed of a win vs Lara. It was obviously a close fight, but Vanes edged the fight at the end. Even with the point deduction, which was completely unfair. Vanes won the fight. In some rounds, Lara was throwing so few punches that it is basically a steal to give that rounds to Lara. One can not expect to throw few punches and get away with a win. Vanes was way more active and he won the fight. The few punches Lara landed on Vanes were weak. Vanes landed the more meaningful punches through the fight. The judges and the referee robbed Vanes of a win. I have 115-112 for Vanes.
Did he fight Lara last night? I thought he was in there with Usain Bolt. If you run, you should automatically lose the round.
TOTALLY! hey lets just change the rules of boxing and put two guys in a phone booth everytime! that wont get old! LOLOL its called BOXING! not "two guys in a phone booth"...although that might mislead most lil g fans into a good ****ing!
I thought the first fight was close and that Vanes fought well vs Andrade. I'm glad to see he competed well
vanes always competes well...hes a tough kid....great guy....always brings it boo boo has nothing but respect for vanes
Vanes didn't not land much when he flurried I will give you that, but he did land meaningful left hooks to the body of Lara from time to time. Punches landed on the body counts too, especially if it was strong. Lara, most of the time, potshotted. He didn't try combinations or anything. Lara punches didn't seem strong neither. Most of his shots seemed to only glance at Vanes head. It was a close fight, but Vanes edged it.
Come down to Earth here are the numbers 162-94 punches landed with 60% accuracy. That is the reason Vanes lost.
If that was Canelo doing exact same things as Vanes did in a fight promoted by GBP, he would have had two 116-111 or 117-110 cards in his favor.
Most people DKSAB. There is no minimum # of punches you have to fire in order to win a round. If you score one jab (throwing just four) and make your ineffectively aggressive opponent go 0 for 60 with mad swings, you win. Hands down, no question about it.
And for the record I still haven't even seen Lara vs. Martirosyan II but this sounds exactly like the pro-Vanes rhetoric from when they drew. ...or the pro-Canelo rhetoric defending his decision over Lara. (a robbery)
If you haven't seen it then don't bother, unless you are having trouble sleeping and need help nodding off. But it wasn't a "robbery" The only real complaint Vanes can have is the point deduction, it wasn't low.
