    And he's the only fighter to fight all three.

    Sad that it ruined him completely.

    If only Tito fought SSM.

    "and Tito also fought all three: DLH, Vargas, SSM"

    "and SSM fought all three: DLH, Tito, vargas"

    Excuse the craziness. :D:lol::tong

    Damn.. and Mosley-Trinidad is probably the most exciting matchup out of all of them. You could almost include Wright into this too. Oddly enough though, he dominated Mosley/Trinidad and would beat DLH, but lost to the "loser" out of them, Vargas.

    Simple, use a little logic.

    The trinidad fight ruined him, yes. but he was still able to win a title and give DLH a tough fight. his fights with all three fighters effectivly ruined him as a championship caliber fighter. As was evidenced by the Mayorga fight. Someone who he would easily pick apart a few years back much like yory boy campas.

    It all began with the Winky fight. The Winky fight pushed Vargas to his limit. Too many tough fights at a young age for Vargas.

    I think ballooning up in weight like crazy, steroids, and simply not taking good care of his body were just as big, if not bigger factors in him becoming shot than the tough fights he had over the years.

    Vargas was pretty much another David Reid.Except Vargas blew up way to big inbetween fights.He didnt take care of himself and his star and pride burnt out way too quickly.Dam shame considering the blistering start his career had at 47.Vargas had way to much smoke blown up his ass and his Mexican Machismo got the better of him in all the bouts when it really mattered.He wasnt just beaten he was beaten up and KO`ed in devastating fashion.

    No you`ve missed the point entirely.Im not talking about Vargas`s legacy and never mentioned such.Reid and Vargas were both young champs who were thrust into the limelight very quickly after stellar careers in the Am`s.Reid was a world champ in around his 11th bout.He got moved to quickly and was put in against Tito and his career was never the same again.The kid had twice the amount of talent than Vargas.But his star burnt bright and burnt out in record time the same as Vargas.So no the comparison is hardly invalid.May be you need to watch some of Reids fights.

    I cant believe Vargas is only 30 or nearby. **** he made a massive impact early on. Im no nuthugger of his but love his spirit and what he brought to the fight game.

    Good to see he has retired.
