**Vargas v. Mayorga...could it be entertaining..while it last?**

I bet it will be entertaining. This fight has no importance or bearing . . . it's up just for the action.

 

I think Vargas will win a so-so fight.

 

Who wants to pay $$ for this dreck. These guys have no business at 164, both are shot fighters.

 

Dont see it being another Vasquez-Marquez but I expect a loud crowd and lots of entertainment before the bell and after.

 

It will be good early. But once the later rounds come around, I expect a sloppy, slow, boring fight. I think this one is going to a decision. And I expect both the weight and both fighters conditiniong to play a role in the action of the fight.

 

I actually agree if this fights goes lets say past 6 maybe I expect their speed to decrease drasticully and so will the punch rate as both both will become tired I cant imagine either guy being in great 12 round condetion they look alright at the weigh ins but in their primes at 147-154 they looked alot tighter and fit at 164 I cant imagine they carry the stamina up.

 

Walked pretty far onto the ledge with that one.

These guys are going to come out flailing at each other, then tire and dance for 12 rounds.

I loved Vargas in his day, but both him and Mayorga are parodies of themselves at these weights.

Another joke of a PPV that hurts boxing.

 

I think it's a safe bet. Could be that both guy's chins hold up and both tire out and it sucks ass - but one would have to lean towards the likelihood of a bloody stoppage. I also don't think it's a waste of money to actually buy it. They aren't selling this as a significant fight per se - it's not even in a real division! - they're selling it as a circus act novelty slugfest. Hey, why not? Nobody's being duped here. Both consumer and purveyor have a tacit understanding that the real appeal here is the trainwreck value and the desire of most people to either a) see Vargas KTFO because they can't stand the ***** or b) see Mayorga KTFO because they can't stand the ***** or c) little from column a, little from column b. Oh, and, yes, the six fans Vargas still has will be drooling into their Nawshis bibs with excitement.

 

Yes, it's not an important fight by any means, but mesh the two styles and attitudes together and you've got a potentially exciting fight. Interestingly enough, the casual fans that I know of are buying this PPV (because both are relatively big names and known to be entertaining), however, the hardcore fans I know aren't going to buy it.
