Everyone knows Vargas struggled to make 154, so I dont believe Hopkins would be too big. Prime Vargas vs Prime Hopkins what happens? IMO it would be a good fight. Vargas was a good boxer-brawler. Hokpins a Defensive fighter who knows all the tricks. I think it would be a good brawl, with Hopkins edging out a decision. The fight would play out similar to Hopkins va Taylor.

    Hopkins via late stoppage.

Watch a motivated Hopkins vs Echols II, that guy could have upset anyone with his dirty tactics.

Glen Johnson never been knockout, and Hopkins TKO him.

    B-Hop destroys that chicano mofo

Vargas talks a lot of smack in his press conferences too, i doubt he will be able to do that infront of Hopkins face to face because he will know the real meaning of being a real OG

Hopkins dominates him, bad match up for Vargas IMO.... Vargas was a strong 154lber, and was considered big because he had a hard time making the weight, but in truth he really wasnt that big of a Jr Middle in his prime. He was 'just right' for that weight, and he simply would not have had the physical dimensions, nor the physical ability to make up for that lack, against the likes of Hopkins.

Hopkins is able to beat Vargas up on the inside, walk through Vargas's punches and while I see the fight being nice and interesting early on, because Vargas was a good boxer in his day and it would have been a nice clash of tactics (Vargas would not do the following here, he would be circling and trying to counterpunch) But Hopkins would wear him down round by round until he is in full control down the stretch against the smaller man.

Hopkins UD or maybe late TKO

Hopkins would have no problem with Vargas and I truly believe the bigger Hopkins would knock him out. The Vargas that fought above 154 failed to impress me.
