    Prime Vargas would have his moments early, but Hopkins takes him out late in the fight or wins by a wide UD.

    I can't help but imagining it similar to Hopkins-Joppy, if Hopkins doesn't stop him.

    While Hopkins is my favourite fighter and I'm sure he would win this one, it seems that many people have forgotten how good Vargas once was.

    Remember the guy who got a controversial but IMO correct decision against Winky Wright, as well as clearly beating Ike Quartey and Raul Marquez, KO'ing quite a few decent contenders.

    Vargas' biggest problem was his chin so although Trinidad blew him out (after having a tough time for a long while), Hopkins would have to wear him down over time. Vargas would push Hopkins all the way, Vargas is at least as good as Echols who made Hopkins work hard.
