I'm very angry that we never got to see how far Valero could have gone. He was 27-0 with 27 KOs. Dude was a crazy warrior, too. Fought with his skull exposed and forced DeMarco to quit on his stool.

Mikey Garcia said that Valero's power was unreal and it was the heaviest power he'd ever tasted. Picked Valero to KO Pac. I *think* he said in an interview after the Spence fight that Valero actually hit harder.

Well, as someone that used to rate his ring IQ pretty highly, I've now concluded after the Spence fight that Mikey in fact is mentally retarded, so.

Broner beat a better version of DeMarco, better. Valero's level of opposition was so weak we really didn't get to see what he had. His best opponent was Vincent Mosquera, who dropped him during their fight, and hadn't really fought anyone of note himself.

Going life and death with Mosquera I don't think bodes well when you are taking on one of the elites in the sport. Valero's power was for real IMO but I'm not sure he would land on the target for it to matter. Plus, I actually think he regressed as a fighter (he probably fell in love with his power); Valero would be at a wide skill gap here.

I think Loma would have stopped him mid-late rounds.

This forum doesn't want to know what I think about this matchup.

Great fight, lots of angles and in-and-out movement here. Up until the demonically possessed Valero lands big. Loma goes to sleep.

Valero, too big, too strong, too good, too deadly.

Valero fought like a caveman. Chin up in the air on a silver platter. Loma gives him a bittersweet lesson and referee puts a merciful stop to the torture in the 10th round.

Lomachenko couldn't stop Luke Campbell. Edwin Valero would have hurt Luke badly, and that's from someone with a reason to go to bat for the St. Paul's product. Valero was too tough, too possessed and too good to be stopped by Loma. This ain't Nic Walters or Jorge Linares. This is something out of George A. Romero.

I agree with this he could school Valero but he wouldn't stop him.
