Whitaker was doing the samething only against fighters like Azumah Nelson, Julio Cesar Chavez.

Loma just did it against Kambosos let's not get too carried away here.

Loma is such a great fighter, but everyone keep your pants on. Kambosos is the worst unified champ of all time. He even lost to Hughes.

Loma should have done this in 2022 and become undisputed at 135, instead of going to sit on tanks for instagram and letting Haney steal his legacy

    what a mismanaged career

Thats very true. Going to Ukraine to sit in the Odessa defense garrison was a joke and a waste of a career.

He should have done this Kambosos right after that Commey fight. He lost his star power doing that and they felt entitled to rob him against Haney.

Whitaker was an outstanding, gifted fighter, but when I consider everything, I personally think Loma has maximized his talents given his limited physical stature. In his own weight class, he was untouchable. Kambosos is irrelevant to the equation. I think most knowledgeable fight fans knew this was a mismatch. Loma is far more talented than Kambosos. Kambosos' claim to fame is dropping Teo and barely hanging on to the victory.

In the heat of the excitement of sadly the far too rare privilege of watching the most skilled fighter in the sport Loma perform his magic I forgot to pay respect to GK. We have to afford him respect for never shying away from taking the toughest route when most others take the easier one.

Beat the bigger undefeated Teofimo in his backyard

In his first defence opted to fight the much bigger Haney when he could've cherrypicked a much easier opponent for his first defence

Rematched him after a demoralizing comprehensive loss

Then he fought the streaking Brit slickster Maxi Hughes

    And then Loma

And he fought Selby and Bey in their backyards too

He could've milked those belts after winning them but he made a point of calling out the best immediately after doing so and he genuinely meant it and he's a colourful and likeable character

    No.

He did the right thing for his country.

Besides, everybody knows he beat Haney.

    Devon knows that.
    Devon’s mum knows that.
If Devon has a dog, he also knows that Loma beat his owner.

Kambosos might be the biggest one hit wonders ever but I got respect for him. I've seen comments on other sites stating he got Teo when he was in a vulnerable state, he piggy backed off that W to make millions so on so forth. And? The guy beat Teo, he did his job. Then goes on to make some bucks being champion (2 fights with Haney, Hughes now Loma). Isn't that the idea? Lol make your money. If we don't see George in another meaningful fight, good luck to the guy

EXACTLY, I don’t know who was in his ear during that time but I would’ve sat down and told him, listen, you can always fight for your country during this conflict, but you can’t always unify all four belts against a guy like George who is a walking loss waiting to happen. He should’ve taken the fight and I will never understand his logic in not taking it at the time. He could’ve taken the fight, won, recovered and then went to the Ukraine to serve his time.

disagree. He could’ve taken the fight and then went to the Ukraine. Would you rather kill two birds with one stone or only one bird?
