50/50 fight for me. I believe Loma to be past prime, and Haney should be fully confident after going undisputed. Loma is better at everything, but Haney has a good frame to keep the distance and has learned to clinch any time an opponent is close. What I'd be looking to see in the first round at the first clinch is whether Lomachenko can apply his anti-clinching 'arms up sit down' maneuver to break out. If he can effectively outmuscle Haney he can apply the necessary pressure to keep the fight in his wheelhouse.

I still don't believe Loma to be a 135 pounder; he's best now at 130 and was a monster at 126. I don't believe Haney to be a 135 pounder either. He looks like a lanky meth head on the scales and I can't imagine he can make weight for many more fights. If it's made in early 2023, I'll pick Loma. Late 2023 and after, I'm picking Haney.

I had hoped (for Haney's sake) that the chinniness he showed against Linares was something he would grow out of quickly, but it seems like anything that lands clean really bothers him and Loma will land clean at some point.

Loma's KO percentage is middle of the road until you consider his resume has zero bums. I'd be surprised if Haney can go the whole fight without touching the canvas.

As always with young fighters on the way up, Haney will have to show something more than he's ever shown. It's hard to know in advance how he'll react to more adversity than he's ever faced.

I rate Haney but I think Loma would still clown him

I got Loma by Stoppage. Unlike the Lopez fight Loma will not have to be as cautious as Haney does not have anywhere near the power of Lopez. I think Haney will cause Loma problems early but then Loma will take over I think it will resemble the Loma Nakatani fight.

Haney doesn’t have any power to deter or make Loma think in my opinion, so assuming he isn’t in a retirement home and they fight next, Loma by UD

Great take on how this is going to be a wrestling match in a lot of ways. I'd prefer to see Loma counter the clinch initiation rather than try to wriggle out.

I doubt Lomachenko's skills, timing, and physical attributes have eroded to the point where it's become a winnable fight for Mr. Massive Weight Bully.

Methinks Lomachenko schools and puts a beating on Haney and possibly ending in a stoppage.

Haney is no match for Loma. No power in his punch at all, Loma would infight him all day long. Can't even KO a lousy-ass Kambosos. I sincerely doubt Haney would want to fight him.

IMHO, the only boxer in 135 lbs today who can beat Loma is Shakur. Now that's real deal.

It didn't bother Lopez so why should it bother Haney. They both skirted Haney.

Good post, i was thinking the same thing with the Clinch & if Loma can somehow get out & even wrestle out of them due to his Training where i've seen him practicing, that alone can help change the fights direction.

You think Haney's chinnines is due to the weight draining? I know fighters that drain lose the protective fluid around the brain. The fluid, as I'm sure you know, protects the brain against shock. Any chance this is his problem?
