I would hope this isn't his next fight. Kats has suffered two beatdowns in a row against slippery-boxers and facing a third slippery-boxer in a row is no way to regain his confidence. Kats has received his fair share of title shots lately and there are far more deserving lightweights (i.e. Guerrero) who should be ahead of him. In saying that, Kats has been gifted with multiple shots and why not take the opportunity if it comes up. I think he should fare a little better considering Vazquez's lack of punching power. I'm just wondering if team Vazquez would want to use their voluntary defense to set him up against a limited but powerful pressure-fighter in his own backyard. Has to be a nice pay cheque somewhere there...
what are you hearing ... cmonnnn we want the gosss !! haha i dont think vasquez will trouble kats in my honest opinion if they were to fight i only take his recent two losses as true losses in my books. guerrero - i believe you'll see this guy turn into a superstar and we'll see in retrospect that katsidis fought one of the greats (Just My Op though) marquez - well what can you say, he is great lol and kats had him down, bad luck i guess the other two were earlier in kats' career and dont reflect where he has come, i see him beating both those guys nowadays so cmon whipsy whos he fightinnnn :happy

agree.would like Kats to take a easier tune up like the fight he had in the Phillipines after his Casa and Diaz losses.but if he does fight Vasquez i give him huge props for fighting a young,in his prime champion.seen Vasquez against Prescott and Zappa very good technical fighter.Mick can only win this by KO.
Katsidis wants title shot against Vazquez by Dan Ambrose - Boxing News 24 - May 19th 2011 The struggling Michael Katsidis (27-4, 22 KO’s) is reportedly interested in taking on IBF lightweight champion Miguel Vazquez (28-3, 12 KO’s) next in a fight that Katsidis is hoping will take place in his native Australia. It’s not exactly a good match-up for the pressure fighter Katsidis, as Vazquez is a pure boxer and likes to move a lot and make his opponents miss with his shots. It was thought that Katisidis would opt for an easy fight when he said recently he wanted to fight his next bout in Australia rather than the U.S. However, Vazquez is far from an easy fight, and in some ways, he’s even more of a problem for Katsidis than his last opponent Guerrero. Vazquez hasn’t lost a fight in three years since he was beaten by the hard hitting welterweight Saul Alvarez by a 10 round decision in 2008. Vazquez was also beaten by Timothy Bradley by a 10 round decision in 2007. The other loss on Vazquez’s resume came in his first fight with Alvarez in 2006. It was asking a lot of the light hitting Vazquez to be in the ring with a much bigger puncher like Alvarez. Katsidis can hit hard, but he’s not heavy handed like Alvarez and doesn’t have much of a right hand. He’ll have problems if he gets in with a slick fighter like Vazquez unless Katsidis looks better than he did in his last two bouts.
