Should there be a Vasquez vs Marquez IV? A lot of people have been talking about it and both fighters say they would do it.

I think these fighters have already made history and a fourth fight is not necessary. I think Vasquez will win a fourth fight against Marquez. They should instead focus on cleaning up the division.

No. They should f--k some other fighters up and given themselves time to recover. Otherwise they'll be shot fighters before too long.

Much as I woud love to see what would undoubtedly be another classic I vote no. These guys have already shown they're about as evenly matched as two fighters could possibly be, a stoppage each and a split verdict which would have been a draw if not for the late seconds knockdown. Another fight you could toss a coin for the winner. But what if Marquez wins to even the score? Do they fight a fifth bout or a sixth? They have given us three great bouts and both should now take their career in another direction. The Molitor-Caballero winner would be great for a start. Or even the loser.

You put two similar fighters like this and it always going to be a good show. But it won't solve anything. There are other fighters out there. Not reason for this two to continue to bang their heads until they get permanent damaged

I just watched the trilogy again before seeing this thread.

I want this fight to happen provided they aren't both shot, otherwise it would be pointless, like having a Barrera-Morales IV.

No reason to have this fourth fight. Vasquez is already on the downside of his career due to too many wars. Marquez is a bit old for this division, and the wars he's had with Vasquez sure as hell didn't help in prolonging his career. Hopefully they can make some good money as their careers start winding down because they sure have earned it.

I see where people are coming from, when they say they don't want to see a fourth fight so the fighters save themselves...but if you have that stance, then you should probably support both guys retiring.

Look at their careers. These are two guys who take a lot of punishment away from each other. Look at Marquez against Austin or Vazquez against Gonzalez. Regardless of whether these two face each other again or not, unless they retire, they are going to be in more hard fights.

So then you have to ask what really is best for them. They aren't going to make serious money without fighting each other and still risk getting hurt in these fights. So is it really in the best interest to stay away from each other?

And what options do they both have if you don't want to see a fourth bout? The two biggest names in the division apart from these two are Ponce De Leon and Juan Manuel Lopez. Now, if you want to see both stay away from dangerous fights, then do you really want to see them fight two guys, who have a combined KO ratio of 89% and are knockout artists?

So I think there are two options. They are retire or they fight a fourth time.

Personally, I'd like to see both take on an easy fight next. Maybe not a top 10 fighter and then see if they have enough left and if they do, a fourth fight would be great. If they don't, they should call it a day.

Man its sad/beautiful seeing both of these guys fight.
It sucks that the human body has limits to how much it can be punched.
I would say just fight a few high profile fights and retire. I wouldnt mind seeing them take on Arce since that would bring in alot of money and not as much damage.
I guess another option is to just be purely exhibition fighters which to me would be just fighting avg fighters for easy money. Im sure that would put some nice change in their pocket
