Rolls off the tongue more fluidly with his last name, maybe? :nusenuse:

Certainly more unique. There are countless Edgars in boxing, not too many Raymundos.

Beltran is a tough man. A solid fighter, doesn’t do anything spectacular but comes to work.
Lomachenko much faster, more skilled and better athlete. He should win going away, but Beltran can make it a dog fight. Loma is not a big 135lb fighter.

Beltran having a belt is worse than Martinez having a belt at 130. A really easy showcase fight for Lomachenko.

Beltran is garbage, I expect Loma to do a number on him.

Raymundo can make it interesting, I know I often fall into the trap of overhyping underdogs but if you think about it, Raymundo knows how to rough house and Lomachenko has been once beaten by such a thing so if Raymundo goes for the Siri blueprint, who knows...

Hopefully it doesn't. Beltran isn't good at this point. He probably shouldn't even have that belt he was given for getting the nod over an ancient Namibian who wasn't that good either in that last fight.

Yes, but taken directly on the heels of Linares. Even with that preceding context, you're unhappy with this fight?

he would probably beltran and easter in the same month. i dont see anyone at 135lbs remotely troubling lomachenko. beltran would look rearranged after a fight with lomachenko. Loma RTD8 Beltran.

Yeah. Loma is too great of a talent to fight a scrub like Beltran. Somebody who was strategically placed with a belt by Arum, similar to how David Diaz was placed with a belt so Pac could get a title at 135, while avoiding Nate Campbell. I'd much rather see Loma in with Easter or Garcia. He's too talented to be fighting scrubs at this point. Why would you want him to face Crawford's four year old leftovers?

Miguel Ángel García vs. Robert Easter, Jr. is all but set for July 28th @ Staples Center for the WBC & IBF title, with Lomachenko vs. Beltrán to follow a month later crosstown (August 25th @ the Forum) with the other two belts at stake.

Official announcements forthcoming soon, probably a joint presser.

Winner to meet by end of 2018.

Where did all the "Lomachenko will duck Beltrán when he gets to lightweight, he don't want none of a supersized version of Salido" people go?

Ohhh right, that was before he got up from a perfect right hand by Linares and stopped him... ;)

Happens to any boxer doing well. I can’t think of 1 boxer with no haters and as someone who tries being quite balanced, surely Loma is one boxer who certainly doesn’t deserve the hate?

No idea why but some just hate regardless
