    Karpency was indeed a sacrificial lamb, and everyone knew he didn't have anything to trouble Ramirez.

    Still, he had every opportunity to fold early when Zurdito started making contact, and look for a soft spot on the mat; yet he stayed upright, was punching back and even landing on occasion. That's more resistance and a better performance in defeat than I expected him to offer. Given how he handled himself in the face of the abuse he sustained, I don't see any need to excoriate him.
