I could see Haney's style and strengths giving Loma a lot of issues. He does some things like Kam who likes to pressure you without a jab. Loma is on a higher level but still can lunge into shots and be timed, like the much younger opponent showed tonight. Loma would need to up his game. And on the other hand, how will Haney deal with Loma in the later rounds. Must make fight.

Haney wont get a ref that will help him. Haney is on his last fight with Top Rank, Bob will want the belts in his stable. Everything will be put in place to ensure Loma wins. Not that he needs the help, based on what we saw tonight. Ortiz is a dangerous fight for anyone in the division, just needs to work on that gas tank. Haney won’t be as effective as Ortiz was in the early stages. He throw’s single shots 90% of the time

I had it 8-4 Loma. He controlled the second half of the fight. He did not look fresh though. He looked a bit slow and a bit off target tonight. Was that Ortiz? or was it Loma in decline???

You realise there is a sport happening in front of your eyes right? If we pull out a corpse of a fighter who has been retired for twenty years and has a great record then they don’t get credit for that right?
Call it top 3 when their careers are finished then, I can call it now because I know the sport. Ortiz would beat Haney.

Ortiz, the fastest and most athletic guy Lomachenko has fought. Loma fought brilliantly to win this.

He was planning to move up in weight before this opportunity. I wonder how much he weighed in the ring, he was huge (I’m guessing around 160)

yeah, i dont think loma can beat haney. Ortiz was getting pieced up nasty just a couple fights ago, so lets not pretend hes some exceptional talent. these big kids are just too strong and cover too much ground for loma. they aren't intimidated by him.

For me, it's B+C. And B being the bigger factor.

Age also a factor here. Loma is much slower than his old self when he fought Linares and Campbell.

Loma looks so small at LW. Haney looked huge next to him. It'll be a tough fight for Loma.

If you think Loma is slower than in previous fights, and I'm not necessarily arguing with you, than "a" (he's slipped) is a contributing factor as well.

Prior to tonight's fight, I thought Haney's size, jab and speed would present all kinds of problems for Lomachenko. I feel the same now.

I don't, however, believe it's an unwinnable fight for the Ukrainian standout by any means.

Lomachenko is terrible on the backfoot. He was giving Ortiz the work when Ortiz tried to stay at range but when Ortiz actually tried to force the issue Loma looked extremely uncomfortable.

It's been like this for years

This is why Loma would destroy Haney but lose badly to someone like Issac Cruz. This is why he struggled so much with Lopez and Salido

This is why Loma looked so good against rangy boxers like Nakatani and Commey. Loma is not on the decline. He just sucks when the opponent actually wants to FIGHT
