Loma got spanked by Orlando Salido. Then Teofimo Lopez made Lomachenko question his level.

I would suspect that if Albert Einstein and Marilyn Monroe were boxing fans and were having an argument, it would resemble this.

Pretty much everyone Canelo has fought at 168-175 is naturally bigger than him.

The likes of BJS, Plant, C. Smith,Fielding, Kovalev couldn't have fought at 154 as adults if you removed a limb.

Loma is routinely giving away bigger physical advantages in terms of weight and reach at 135 than anyone else in the P4P top 10 is and Clenelo was even up at 175

Even up at 175 against Kovalev he would've weighed about the same as Kovalev and was only giving away 2½'' in reach

    Clenelo at 168 and above

    Clenelo 70½'' reach

    Smith 78″
    Fielding 75''
    Plant 74″
    JCC Jr. 73''
    Kovalev 72½''
    BJS 2.0 71″
    Yildirim 70''
    GGG 70'' reach

Clenelo weighs about the same as most of them if not more and would only have been giving away weight to a couple or maybe three them

Bivol weighed 183 in the ring, Clenelo 180 or 178 bare minimum and has a 72'' reach

Loma is routinely facing guys who outweigh him by 2 or even 3 divisions, giving away 10-15lbs is an awful lot to give away for a natural 126 pounder, especially when you're giving away big/huge amounts of reach and facing so many big/huge punchers, and it's different to fighters from much heavier divisions doing so

    Loma 65½'' reach

    Commey 71'' reach
    Nakatani 71'' reach
    Campbell 71'' reach
    Pedraza 70½'' reach
    Linares 69'' reach
    Ortiz 69'' reach
    Teofimo 68½'' reach
    Crolla 67'' reach

His frame is tiny and these guys look like a different species to him after they've rehydrated. The fact that so many ignore this and try and act like the huge physical advantages he's constantly having to contend with an overcome aren't a big factor in why things are so much more difficult for him at 135 is incredibly disingenuous. He could've easily stayed at 126 or 130 and cleaned up where everything would've been so much easier for him but he dared to be great and not only moved up to a division full of giants he has no right being in, and one which is by far his weakest weight class, but he opted to hang around and tried to unify all the belts individually in it.

Twink ducked back down to 135 after cherrypicking the weakest belt holder in his third division who wasn't even the real champion and he was giving away less physical advantages against them than Loma is routinely at 135

Shakur literally never made one defence of his first world title at 126 because he moved up immediately due to how big was at the weight. He was so big for 130 he was only able to defend his title five times before losing it on the scales, something Twink also did. Point being. Loma has never missed weight in his life, and I mean the first time of asking, and in complete contrast to many of his peers, especially ones his haters worship like gods, he was never a weight bully and when he moves up in weight he's actually facing bigger or way bigger and heavier opponents, whereas, conversely, they're often still bigger or at worst the same size as their opponents when they move up.

But we give Clenelo credit for daring to be great in the higher divisions and that's why I argued he still deserved a high P4P ranking even after losing to Bivol, whereas many clowns argued that fighters who have literally never beaten a prime world champion their own size before, very few if they have, who he's infinitely more accomplished than deserve to be ranked above him

Actually this time I can see why people think it's closer, a few tight rounds.. Lomas output drops against these bigger guys & they keep him honest that's why hes not as effective but here he switched it up in the last 3rd & sealed the win.. Ortiz is really good, reminds me of Lopez actually but also a switch hitter I'd love to see that fight.. definitely a future titlist... I think hes better than the likes of Kambosos , top 10 LW easily now.. it will age well that win

The vast majority here don't really give Canelo credit. As a matter of fact, Lomachenko gets more credit for doing less.

There are lots of very valid reasons why Clenelo gets the heat he does. There's no real valid reason to hate on Loma and the hate he's subjected on social media, especially from the likes of the Haney, Twink, Shakur etc. fanboys is absolutely ****ing insane, extremely nasty in nature, and unlike anything I've seen, especially for a fighter who has literally done nothing to warrant any hate at all.

FTR, I hereby solemnly swear to these scumbags that I will terrorize them on whatever platform they infest with their cancer for the rest of my days and I will force them to hold their gods to the same insane standard they hold Loma and the fighters they hate to.

I might talk **** but, despite the controversy that is synonymous with his name and the numerous very valid criticisms I and many others have leveled at him, I've always considered Clenelo an excellent fighter and when people then tried to dismiss him as a hype job which is absolutely ridiculous and tear down his accomplishments after he lost to Bivol I immediately came to his defence. He's a legit great fighter

    Another perspective

He faced a former sparring partner who trained with him for 5 weeks and was completely familiar with Lomachenko's style and moves so he had a significant amount of experience to fall back on and he used to his advantage.

I had that thought as well, but didn't feel like arguing with anyone, so I kept my mouth shut.

I'm on forums and Twitter and people are having a meltdown over Lomachenko's "decline" but they're totally overlooking the obvious - he faced someone who he has probably already done dozens (if not hundreds) of rounds of sparring with.

I just hope Ortiz can use this as a confidence builder and launch his career from this.

Also, Lomachenko finished STRONG. That tells me he isn't slipping like people think and he has plenty in reserve in case he needs to push the gas sooner.

I do however think Haney will give him a very very strong test purely due to the significant size difference between the two. Loma will have to be on his A+ game and bring every tool in the bag against Haney.
