...alright, enough screwing around now, let's make it interesting already. :deal:

I had a look at the landscape of 135lb contenders and...godDAMN. There's nobody. Flat out nobody that wouldn't be a mismatch against lightweight Loma at this point, prime as he is and firing on all cylinders.

    https://fightnews.com/rankings-

Devin Haney? Nah. Commey? Hell no. Mikey? Probably not before getting Spenced, definitely not a snowball's chance in hell now. Nakatani? Campbell? Abdullaev? Kingry? Nope, nope, nope, nope.

Even my dude Teó López is still at least a year off from ready for that smoke (if even then).

Looking up, though... at 140, the plot thickens right along with Lomachenko's calves. Can he be as effective there or would he hit a hard ceiling?

Southpaw versus southpaw. TTT has 3" height and 4" reach advantage. Bridge too far?

As one of TTT's biggest hypers and supporters on the site. Postol hurt him to the body. Loma can and probably will too. It won't be a walk in the park, but in the battle between two of the ore advanced ring IQ's in the business, Taylor is Steve Jobs, but Loma's is Einstein level.

You don't think he'd run into the wall factoring in size? Josh is a big lad, could even land at welter..

It wouldn't be easy, and he'd have to play it safe, but ultimately I think Loma would take over and get the job done. But its no sure thing.

Loma is talented enough to move up, now. He'd beat Ramirez, Hooker, and Taylor. The one that would be an issue for him would be Prograis. At lightweight, Haney won't be ready for a while. Lopez probably isn't ready, but has enough of a mean streak, talent, power, and young ignorance that he would be Loma's toughest fight to date. I don't see Loma having much of a tough time with Tank. Tank is flat footed, and short. Loma could point fight him like he did Russell Jr, or he could just overwhelm Tank with pressure. Tank also fights with his hands down half the time which would be disastrous against Lomachenko

Would be a drawish fight imo. Loma not moving up tho he's a small lightweight and even if he won he wouldn't be the same after.

If he stays at lightweight he could always rematch his 2012 Olympic quarterfinals rival Félix Verdejo Sánchez. Remember that "future p4p superstar"? :risas3: I bet good old El Diamante could hang and put up a decent fight, eh? For like a round? :deal:

God, that still really sticks in my craw ..the amount of guff I was given for merely suggesting that Verdejo might go bust in the pros.

Eat shit, Verdejo fans. He'd be a 20/1 underdog against Lomachenko and wouldn't even last as long as Crolla did. :deal:

mikey is the only one. loma should fight teo next. its in house, would sell big if properly promoted, and gives him a taste of what he will face against mikey, without the skill level or experience. then he could fight mikey in december. mikey should fight at 140 or commey next, get him adjusted to the lighter weight.
spence dint do anything to mikey that will affect him. i still favor mikey over loma. i said prefight that loma was going to look like a beast, like he belongs at 135, cause i was pretty sure i knew what was going to happen. i now think it will be a lot more back and forth, but i still think mikey hurts him bad at some point and ends it. i think mikey will be a bit more respectful of lomas punches now, it will be more of a chess match.
im glad loma looked great, it means hes still prime to make history, and leave no doubt as to his quality historically. mikey can too, either one could win and rule as the best lightweight of this era. or give us a trilogy, if its hotly contested. either way, its 2 great fighters that are running out of time and i want them in fights i will want to rewatch in 20 years with whatever kids in my family are around.

I agree w/ everything except I don't think Mikey will respect Loma's power AT ALL. Mikey just survived 1,100 thrown punches from Spence. Lomachenko doesn't have the arm length to control Mikey with a jab and Lomachenko's activity will give Mikey plenty of opportunities to counter. Mikey by stoppage on cuts, but he will get schooled before his power ends it.

most of those punches were blocked or rolled with, but he did catch some shots clean with spence sitting down on them, and i only saw 1 body shot bother him, mikey got cheen.
i would expect the odds to favor loma, at least right now, unless something else happens between now and the mikey fight. mikey losing and loma looking like he did tonight, is going to distort reality a bit. i think a lot of people picked up the wrong ideas about mikey from what spence was able to do, but nobody below 147 can do what spence can do. same will happen with tonights fight, it will distort the average perspective.
i dont bet on fights, but if loma fights mikey, im going to lay down a c note on mikey. if i win i will see how fast i can turn that win into 10k or lose it. a little game to get more boxing in my life, lol.

It's a big risk, if I was Loma I'd only move up for Pac. The risk of being beaten due to sheer size it not worth it for the reward that a win against Taylor would provide.
