Round 1

Quick right hands from Zayas, and the second one flies past a Mastronunzio jab and puts him down. They settle into a rhythm of circling and throwing 1-2s, and Zayas' continue to look sharper. Zayas catching Mastronunzio with "four pieces" as Ward puts it, basically doubling up on the 1-2, and bursting through his guard. At one point Mastronunzio is hurt and seems about to go down but the ref has maneuevered to his flank and inadvertently prevents him from moving backwards (or perhaps falling down). Mastronunzio somehow finishes the round without going down a second time, but at this point it would've been a 10-8 even without that initial KD. Ref jumps in just before the bell as Zayas is flurrying.
