Loma by easy wide decision, taking no risks and making a run at bigger money fights in 2022.

 

Im pretty sure there was nobody better that was available when the fight was made. But you would have a point in reference to the Nakatani fight

Come on man, who voted for Commey? Commey is like a poor man's Walters. Loma should look spectacular against a guy as limited as Commey.

 

Commey would give most light weights a hell of a fight… There's no shame in getting knocked out by explosive Lopez who will undoubtedly be a fully fledged welterweight in a year or so.. apart from that he pushed Easter & Shafikov to the brink & obliterated Martinez (who was jobbed against Romero) & Beltran.. Commey is a solid LW. These type of fights for Loma are more interesting now than they would have been a couple of years ago because Loma is getting older… That's why I don't have a problem with it… Commey is physical and a strong LW.. We'll see first hand how Loma can still handle these guys as he's aging and it will also stand him in good stead for a possible GKJ fight who is a very solid LW physically too.

Of all the things to nitpick (and there's a ton to poop on) in boxing, this should rank at the very bottom.

Put it this way... we get to see 2 more rounds of Lomachenko if the fight goes the distance. Blessing in disguise. Basically, more box to munch.
